BIO:
Derrick S got in contact with electronic music in 1995, at that time Daft Punk made a huge impact in the music scene with their album "Homework" which was also a very big influence for him.
Listening a lot to House and Techno he soon realized that he wanted to create his own music and add his own style to the electronic music scene.
Over the years he got more and more into trance and progressive music where he feels he can express his ideas, emotions and feelings best:
"Trance music is a very emotional music for me, where i can put a lot of feeling and passion into. The sound just should dive into you, go straight under your skin and in your heart, where it gives you a warm and positive feeling"
His main focus now is on Trance and Progressive House, but he still likes to try new things in producing:
"I..m very open minded for new styles and like to mix different elements together to keep things fresh and interesting. Using some real instruments to deliver a human touch is also a very important thing to me"
Because of his creative and versatile output he even startet 2 new projects in 2008: Sirens of the Night and HiFi Fuckers.
Also one of his favourite artists for a long time are Chicane, their music and Derrick..s love for the ocean and the summer where a great inspiration for doing his first release Balearic Afterglow EP:
"I wanted to do some music which theme is my love and desire for the summer, the ocean and the beach. Not only for the clubs but also for you to enjoy on your vacation or at home"
