Interests

  • General

Movies (mainly on DVDs these days!), Music, Natural Bodybuilding,English-Style Cottages (Hooray for Thomas Kinkade!!), Reading.
  • Music

ANYTHING that sounds good to me! But I'm far too busy trying to make a living writing my own music nowadays, to have much time to listen to music the way I did in College. As for Film Composers: Bernard Herrmann, Alfred Newman, Max Steiner, Franz Waxman, Jerry Goldsmith, Erich Wolfgang Korngold, John Williams (The "Star Wars" You Tube Scene featured below, was the "Light Bulb" moment for me, when I "got" music for films!!), James Horner, Rachel Portman, Elmer Bernstein, James Newton Howard, Leonard Rosenman, Dimitri Tiomkin, Miklos Rosza, Michael Giacchino.
  • Movies

I ONLY go OUT to the movies about 3 times a year(mainly pop in DVD's now), tops. One, they just don't make 'em like they use to, and TWO, they're NOT as CHEAP to see anymore!! But here is my list of a "few" of my favorites:The Red Shoes, (my#1 Fave!!), and just about anything else from the Powell-Pressburger team; The LOTR Trilogy, Anything Hitchcock, Odd Man Out, The Seventh Veil, A Christmas Story, The Devil And Miss Jones (The Jean Arthur version!), A Christmas Carol (w/Alastair Sim), Quackster Fortune Has A Cousin In The Bronx, The Personals, Roman Holiday, Blade, Green For Danger, Most Bogart Movies, On The Town, The Crow, The Sixth Sense, Signs, Most Garbo Films, Ealing Studio Comedies, Our Man In Rio, Children Of Paradise, Braveheart, David Lean, Steve McQueen, Kirk Douglas, James Dean, Cary Grant, Bruce Lee, Julia Roberts, Jennifer Jones, and Errol Flynn Movies, Zebrahead, the early Spike Lee "Joints", Red River, So Ends Our Night, Intermezzo, Boyz In The Hood, Mr. Deeds Goes To Town, The Original Star Wars Trilogy, Last Of The Mohicans, The Matrix, Predator, Total Recall, All 3 Terminator films, La Bamba, Lethal Weapon I &II, Die Hard I &II, La Femme Nikita, Yiddle With A Fiddle, Dead Of Night, The Sound Of Music, The Personals, Jeremiah Johnson, Silverado, Pulp Fiction ("Just Say What Again!!"), and WAY TOO MANY more to mention here, but Mainly classic films.

Blurbs

About me:

I am a professional composer in San Diego, who, along with my composing partner, Dr. Eric Nedelman, write mainly Instrumental Background pieces for use in Film, T.V. and other media, in our respective Professional Home Studios; I guess it doesn't hurt that I'm an absolute Classic Movie Buff! Eric and I recently completed our new demo CD of material, which we will be sending out to prospective contacts starting late July, 2009. Full, Mp3 Versions of this new music (realized mainly via the ULTRA Professional sounding Vienna Symphonic Library Samples!) have been uploaded on our DKW Musicworks MYSpace site. I'm an avid Natural Bodybuilder who works out religiously 5 days a week in my home garage gym (I get through my workouts a lot faster, during the Winter!!). I weighed in at 340 Lbs. when I graduated from SDSU in the summer of 1992, and I knew I had to do something before I killed myself. Also, I felt like such a hypocrite, being such a Huge Women's Bodybuilding fan since the days of Lisa Lyon on. So I slowly, but surely, started exercising, and dieting, and have been able to get down to around 190 Lbs.(still want to lose about 35 more). With my sweet tooth, it will always be a constant battle; But my sincere love of working out should enable me to stay on top of things. And though I NOW Pump Iron mainly as a FUN Hobby, I take my workouts VERY seriously- My Gym setup of a Pro Form 640 Multi-Station Bench; Northern Lights Preacher Curl, Calf Raise, & Leg Extension Benches; various Ivanko Olympic Plates, & Dumb Bells; BOSU Ball; & Schwinn 113 Upright Exercise Bike, ensure I can get in a complete workout, without having to go out to a Pro Gym. The only drawbacks are not having a spotter, and currently being unable to add too many extra Quarters; But I'm constantly working on building up my Ivanko plate collection(EXPENSIVE, though!). The ONLY supplements I use are Potassium, Glucosamine-Chondrotin, ON Whey Protein,Paramount Supplements Pure Creatine (Createam),CLA, and 2 Iron pills a week. I promise to post more pics, as soon as I can "Shanghai" Eric with his Digital Cam & Scanner! ("Veggie Update": I've added Whole Foods Organic Broccoli & Cauliflower to my Menu!) From June 1992, when she suffered a Heart Attack, until her passing on May 26, 2000, I was Caregiver to my Dear, Sweet and Stoic Mother, 24/7. But I wouldn't trade a minute of that time, nor would I have made a different choice; After all, she took care of me 1st! She was a Single Mom, which is why I have the utmost admiration for Single Mom Iron-Pumpers, since I know it MUST be hard to find that extra time!! She also happened to be my BEST friend, as well as the BEST "Life Coach" I'll ever know, and I try to put her lessons to use in my life, DAILY! So, although I'm a bit of a "Late Bloomer" in my own Life and Career, I'll have to coin that ol' phrase, better late than NEVER!! I'm a shy, but very affable guy,who stays content by heeding Mom's Best sage advice to emphasize the "Little Things In Life";Who believes in treating people equally, with kindness and respect; And by my actions, hope to remind people that,no matter how hopeless things may seem to be in the world today, it's NOT hard to be basically NICE!

Who I'd like to meet:

The former Ditech Lady, Anne Marie Howard-SO sincerely Sweet and Wholesome;Ilaria Montagnani, the woman behind the "Forza" Samurai fitness routine; The WICKEDLY Ambitious, Mercurial Percussionist Nannette Fortier, just ONE more time, to let her know that her VERY callous act towards me on January 12, 1995 may have knocked me down, but did NOT keep me down!! And of course, All of my Fave Bodybuilding/Fitness/Figure Heroines! I'll approve an "Add" to anyone on my "Friends" list who has and/or promotes a Fitness lifestyle, those who are in the Entertainment Field;Musicians,& Movie Folk, fellow Film Buffs, Artists, and just plain Ol' nice people. (NOTE:MySpace Add/Then/Deleters=Haters In MY Book!!). However, anyone who does or promotes Nudity or Fetish stuff on their pages need NOT apply; This is a "G-Rated" profile!!! Note; In Tribute To Michael Jackson, I've Pasted A YouTube Clip Below, Of My Favorite MJ Moment, The "Lisa Simpson Birthday" Episode; My Mother Took Him Into Her Heart After The Oprah Winfrey Interview, Dubbing Him Her "Angelchild", & I Fondly Recall Us Watching This Episode Together.
