Hi, thanks for adding me. I've known Evan Rowe since high school, and he sent me a few CD's this month, including Loose Lips Sink Ships, and I have not stopped listening to it in the past weeks. Brilliant.
LP: You have a distinctive vocal style – who would you say some of your influences are? MW: Since I sing so differently than most people would expect of me, or assume I would sound, my inspirations might seem even weirder. I love P.J. Harvey, Glenn Danzig of The Misfits, Dave Gahan of Depeche Mode, Johnette Napolitano of Concrete Blond and David Eugene Edwards of 16 Horsepower and Wovenhand. Also, some of my friends are my biggest influences. Aimee Argote from the band Des Ark is my favorite singer. Even the bands I play with – how an honest person sounds when they sing what comes out of them, instead of playing a “role” or having to be a character. I like brutal honesty, in all forms. I sing like a girl a lot, I sing like I am going to die, or I just got shot in the foot. It’s not always everyone’s cup of tea, but I think good art shouldn’t be.
