New York’s, DesDemon, is one of metal's most unique, influential and prestigious acts to come along in many years. The group's reputation among fans and media alike is marked by enthusiasm as well as high respect. The band has already proven themselves on the world stage, sharing the stage with the likes of Nightwish, Epica, Kamelot, Dokken, Fintroll, Hammerfall, Blind Guardian, Symphony X, and Dragonforce to name a few. DesDemon are poised to introduce the planet with their ambitions, melodic, and somewhat dark, power metal.
Led by founding members, the Mistress Tina (vocals), Dan Rhodus (drums), Lord Metadox (guitar), they are joined by the newly acquired Ronald “Pelagius” Porcelli (bass) and Nickolas Henriksen (keyboards), they systematically deliver their blend of blackened power metal to the international stage.
“With the response we received at Halloween Metal Meeting, we knew we had a keeper”, Rhodus confesses. “Being able to find such an all star line up, has to say something about fate.”
"...a well skilled band, female fronted and a sound ranging from Dark to Progressive Metal with slices taken from the world of Power and even Black Metal." -Metal to Infinity
"The centerpiece to this metallic feast, is the voice of singer Mistress Tina." -Metal Rocker
"...great dark symphonic power, and great theater." -Heavy Sound
Musically, DesDemon combine different styles which they blend into their own distinctive sound. “We have fans in many musical camps, but the core is always metal” Lord Metadox characterizes the band's unique standing. “We play power metal as much as progressive and black metal, integrating the three into a dark, distinctive fresh sound.” Our music is pure with double bass rhythms, progressive arrangements, but also ballads and straightforward mid-tempo songs.“ “We don't care what you want to call it, to us, the most important criterion is our own style” states Tina.
Listening to their latest release, “The Awakening” you will discover five monolithic-sounding, self-contained numbers. “The songs all have a spiritual dimension to them, but these are five songs that tell a great story.” says Mistress Tina. "They tell a twisted tale of a woman’s fall from grace and her ensuing vengeance upon her enemies. Through our music and theatric stage show the story is expressed, giving the audience more than just a typical performance."
Now they continue to present their offering, live on stage, to convince the audience of its qualities.
