16.2H Half-Arabian (Friesian/Warmblood) Gelding

Surreall is a 3 year old Half-Arabian gelding by the Pinto Friesian/Warmblood stallion *Nico out of a black Bey Shah bred Arabian mare Bey Ebony Rose. He started his show career in 2006 and performed very well in hand - taking numerous championships and year end awards. Now under saddle, he is showing great promise as a hunter/dressage mount. He has been showing under saddle this year and has been nothing short of exceptional - taking two championships at his first breed show ever. He has a natural 10 canter, round and lofty - and uses his shoulder and frame for a floating trot with great extension and drive. He was purchased at 9 months old from Trobuk Farms and Amanda has done all his training and showing to date. Look for him to continue his show career next year as we have plans to take him to the February Scottsdale show in Junior Horse and Adult Amateur Hunter Pleasure.

15.2H Brown Quarter Horse Gelding

The Black is now at Desert Breeze Ranch. He is a powerfully built brown Quarter Horse gelding whose career has primarily been as a heading horse. Unfortunately he broke his sesmoid in an accident this Spring of 2007. He was sent to Texas where he had the best in surgery and care to save his life. He returned to Las Vegas in August of 2007. He is fully trained under saddle, but will be starting a new career in 2008! His career as a heading horse has changed route for now and he was looking at possibly being traded or given away to a future unknown. That is where we stepped in to save him and change his career. We are planning on using him as a western pleasure mount, but also possibly some reining seeing as he has a great quiet gallop and a big stop! Either way he will look good doing it. He has a huge chest, big forearms, strong gaskins and rear - he is built for work. We are really excited about getting him started on his new career, as soon as we get a chance to evaluate him and see how he comes along. Check back for updates!

Excellent Proven Broodmare, Started Under Saddle

Maddie has just recently started her training at Desert Breeze Ranch. She is 8 years old and has primarily spent her life as a broodmare. Producing two beautiful Half-Arabian buckskins and one fanominal smokey black Paint colt. He is outstanding and still standing at stud! She is a lovely mare with full registration including a white belly spot on both sides, two hind socks, full blaze and a small feather like marking on her neck. She is leggy and very athletically built - pleasant headed and has a good mind. Her trot is fantastic. We believe she would cross well with warmbloods, thoroughbreds and/or paints planning on foals used in hunter or dressage under saddle. She has a natural dressage movement and a tall refined look to her. She has excellent ground manners and is a joy to handle. Clips, bathes, trailers, farrier, blankets - you name it! She has been started under saddle and is coming along nicely - currently being ridden both in the arena and now out on the trail. We want to give her a new start in life and the opportunity to prove herself under saddle. She is now co-owned by both Cindy and Amanda in the hopes she will have a new career in the show ring not just the breeding shed. Check back for updates on her progress.

This profile was originally set up for Desert Breeze Ranch - it is now host to the horses in training with Amanda Landry. The partnership has went away and this site is for hosting the horses that Amanda shows. Please contact her for furthur information. This ranch has been closed unfortunately. However the horses are still showing and competing. Surreal, Black and Scotch are now at Amazing Grace Stables in Las Vegas, NV. Always looking to touch base with those who love horses like we do. Although host to mostly Miniatures, we also house Surreall - our 16.2H 3 year old Half-Arabian gelding. Therefore we compete on both a "small" and "tall" level.

If you are looking for overnight space, compete here locally or are just looking to talk horses - we are always available. We do compete at the Nevada State Horsemen's Association shows, as well as, some travelling or competing locally in AMHA, AMHR, Arabian, Pinto, Paint and Quarter Horse shows.
