Gaming (mainly table top RPGs), board games, card games, mystery & espionage novels/films/TV shows, nature (in all its forms), electronic media (is my guilty pleasure -- DVDs, CDs, etc), swimming (if my condo complex had a decent pool), traveling (would love to go abroad again), hiking, writing, and yes sometimes sleep.
My dysfunctional family (kidding ... only my mom and I don't really get along well), my gaming crew (there are about a dozen of us), the Dead Gentlemen located at www.deadgentlemen.com and their films/shirts, and believe it or not my chiropracter (straightened my back from a bow to a spine).
Music
I'm fairly open musically (since I have no ability for playing instruments). Alternative, blues rock (all of rock really), jazz, blues, swing, classical (violins big time), electronica, trance, acid jazz, country, celtic (bagpipes big time) even some hip hop & rap, and most definitely soundtracks (scores/songtracks) of which I have about 150 and working toward to 200. Obviously theme music is big for me ... helps set moods of all kinds.
I hate any truly racist music or when guys sound like they always have something attached to their anatomy to make them hit high notes.
Movies
Plainclothes, Wall Street, Real Genius, Heathers, Thomas Crowne Affair, Pump Up The Volume, Batman Begins, both Bourne Identity & Supremacy, Usual Suspects, Ronin, Spy Game, Last Samurai, Band of The Hand, Sin City, Pirates of the Caribbean, Name of The Rose, Brotherhood of the Wolf, Crimson Rivers, Recruit, Heat, Fight Club, Ocean's 11 & 12, Citizen Kane, The Aviator. In terms of movie series (3 or more films): Star Wars, Lethal Weapon, John Hughes 3 (Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, & Ferris Bueller -- Shermer, IL & are practically concurrent), Jack Ryan series, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Marvel Films (Blade, X-Men, Punisher (w/Thomas Jane), Spiderman, Daredevil), Bond (need I name all of them?), Ridley Scott's films (Blade Runner, Alien, Gladiator, Blackhawk Down, Legend, etc). ........
High hopes: Pirates of The Caribbean 2 & 3, Superman Returns, Ghost Rider, the new Miami Vice (Colin Farrell/Jamie Foxx), the rumored new A-Team (possibly with The Rock), MI:3, Inside Man, others yet to be named....
Television
Lost, Entourage, Sleeper Cell miniseries, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Grey's Anatomy, Deadwood, and several things on the History Channel plus MTV now & then....
Older stuff: MacGyver, A-Team, Hogan's Heroes, Are You Being Served? (British sitcom), La Femme Nikita, MI-5/Spooks (in England), Sherlock Holmes (with Jeremy Brett as Holmes), Stingray.
Books
Extraordinary Book of Names (it gives names of all the cultures on earth even those that have disappeared -- patronomics, matronomics, first & family -- invaluable for a writer), all my gaming books starting with Spycraft 2.0 and its predecessor, Insidae (a book on developing solid plots & hooks for writing or gaming), and anything by David Morrell or PD James.
Heroes
My father for his optimistic perseverance, several literary heroes of note (Sherlock Holmes, despite his addiction), quiet philanthropists, those who hold themselves accountable for their actions (especially politicians & celebrities -- extremely short list), William Wallace (for doing the right thing), all the journalists (like Veronica Guerin) who have given their lives to print the "good" stories, soldiers of all nations who give their lives for the safety of their colleagues survival, men who unknown beknownst to many helped shape history like Count Saint-Germain, Sir Thomas More, those who martyred themselves for the sake of the Christian religion, and all involved at the inception of this great nation of Freedom.
About me: Simply put, I'm a poet & philosopher. I'm very tolerant of a great deal. Living in Arizona has afforded me the chance to see a city grow from 200K to over 1.5 million in 20 years. I've grown watching the Valley of The Sun develop and all the while had my life change as it is prone to do. My parents have been divorced for over a decade now (there is more than a story there folks), my sister Liz has left her job at Dreamworks doing DVD sales analysis for NetFlix brokering deals with studios, and I'm coasting my way through life looking for my defined place in the world while holding down a job. I maintain my optimism & hope in life by gaming (not console gaming, a little computer gaming) and trying to keep my pleasures simple. Wanna know more? ... Read the book (I'm kidding just let me know...)
I'll answer anyone who sends a message or leaves a comment (with the exception of "add me so you can look at my webcam" crap) ...
You Should Be a Film Writer
You don't just create compelling stories, you see them as clearly as a movie in your mind.
You have a knack for details and dialogue. You can really make a character come to life.
Chances are, you enjoy creating all types of stories. The joy is in the storytelling.
And nothing would please you more than millions of people seeing your story on the big screen!
You have a tempered, reasonable way of thinking.
You tend to take every new idea in, and meld it with your world view.
For you, everything is always changing. Each moment is different.
Your thinking process tends to be very natural - with no beginnings or endings.
Please feel free to leave me any comments or questions ... An answer is guaranteed, the answer you receive may not be the one you want but you will get an answer....
One last thing: if I add you as a friend and you bombard me with bulletins, you might get cut loose (train bulletins are a surefire way to get released)....
What lies below is the title video for one of my favorite sites. It is a play-by-post roleplaying site which happens in the Fireflyverse created by Joss Whedon. The webaddress for the site is www.findingserenity.org ... Please come check it out.
Who I'd like to meet: I'm just looking in general for people of similar interests but I'm up to talking to anyone about most things. I like to think of myself as a sarcastic & witty slightly off-center individual who is tolerant & patient with most things in life. I'm more fond of natural beauty than silicon valley. I prefer honesty & openness with doses of humility & modesty too. I accept all types of people as people in life with the exception of a couple defined idiots as below.
The things which set me off (could be called peeves): drug dealers, racists, using something I purchased for my own use before me (sharing is different as in a DVD), and willful ignorance (not knowing is one thing but choosing not to know is something else).
Odd word: peeve or peeves ... hmmm...
Thanks for the info... Im currently seeing Emergency Chiro. sent there by my attorney. Thanks for looking out.. I cannot sleep.. I think I need to take my pain meds and knock out!! Hope all is well :-)
