About Bagpipes - Eric Boyd

I'm a third-generation bagpiper of Scottish descent. I began playing and writing music for the Great Highland Bagpipe when I was ten years old. In addition to the Great Highland Bagpipes, I also play the Scottish small Pipes, acoustic, electric & bass guitar, tin whistle, drums, keyboards & piano.

I'm a former member of the Celtic bands Silent Planet and Tartanic as well as Sonic Impulse, the Los Angeles Police Department Pipe Band, City of Glendale Pipe Band and Cabar Feidh Pipe Band. I was recently nominated for a Celtic radio Music Award with Silent Planet and completed a project for the independent film "Juan Frances: Live."

I'm currently working on various solo projects including a new album slated for release in late 2010.
