DJ
Nitro first got into the scene in college when former college roomates started
building a personal collection of records. Their collection grew enough to be
able to DJ private parties for friends and college associations. Eventually, the
former college roomates were DJing parties all over Texas. As
time went on, the three roomates ended up going their seperate ways in life.
However, unlike his former roomates, DJ Nitro continued to DJ. After graduating
college, DJ Nitro got a "day job" in Dallas and held DJ residency
at Lazerz and Unfilter'd in the infamous Deep Ellum area.
After
a job transfer to Houston, DJ Nitro gave up the club scene and started to focus
towards production in 1998 when one day in 2002 the Black Dragon Production
crew heard and hired him on the spot to spin at Club Azure. That lasted a few
months until the club decided to head into a different direction with another
promotions group.
DJ
Nitro continued production work with several companies on fashion shows, dance
routines, commercials and promotions. During one particular event at OPUS club,
the owner heard the music and DJ Nitro became the next Saturday night resident
DJ in the OPUS Underground Lounge. That eventually led to DJing on both Fridays
and Saturday nights. Friday nights were 80s dance and remixes. Saturdays were
House, Trance, Progressive and Vocals.
Unfortunately,
after close to two years of DJing at Club OPUS, it ran its course of club life
and the club shut its doors in May of 2006.
Currently,
DJ Nitro is back into production and looking forward to opportunities to get back into DJing.
