About Desolate Sky

Hailing from all reaches of the Chicago land area, Desolate Sky is out to prove that true metal still thrives and has something more to give. Formed by Scott Staszak and Mike Mendenhall, this thundering four piece brings the walls down with the same force as bands such as Metallica and Megadeth, but throws in many melodic twists and turns ala bands like Iced Earth. After a revolving door of members this band is now solidified with Scott Staszak on rhythm guitar and vocals, Mike Mendenhall on drums, Pat Gandy on lead guitar, and Steve Sones on bass. With the line up in place and a new album on the way, Desolate Sky is here to stay. We are not here to reinvent the wheel, but we want to give true metal fans a record that they can be proud of.
