My live performances tend to the ambient side, while these recordings tend to the imaginative side. You can peruse some of the records that I idealize to the left but, if I've done this the way that I hope, maybe you wouldn't notice too much of any one in this music...
I've played electric guitar since grade school, and I started playing the Chapman Stick around the time I turned 20. I don't know if this comes through in the music at all (I do use a fair amount of processing at times), but I love the way that an instrument sounds just by itself, nakedly. Conversely, I've also developed a great love for mangling and twisting sounds, hopefully into something new.
Some Philly venues I've performed at include The Rotunda, numerous performances on 91.7 WKDU (Drexel), Doc Watson's, and many performances at the University City Arts League. I've also performed while living in California: The Santa Cruz Digital Arts Festival 2004, Sound/Shift Big Sur 2004, and Woodstockhausen 2003.
Most recently, I've terrorized the audience at Steel City Coffeehouse with my good friend Joe Guise, performing as a duo--words, hot-rodded Strat, and a lovely obsolete delay. I recently performed a set at Y2K8 Loopfest.
I've just completed an 11-song album, which is available directly through me via mail-order. Just send me a message for details!
