We play old-school hardcore/punk. If you're in some EMO/Post-Hardcore band, hip-hop "band", garage rock/pop band or don't play fast metal, punk or hardcore we don't give a shit about you. Don't waste my time sending a friend request because we know you don't give a shit about us either and are just trying to "collect" friends. And again, WE DON'T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT YOU. If you play in a band that's "look" would somehow involve flat-ironing your hair, wearing stretch jeans a white belt and jacket and you sound like the Hives or think you're Motley Crue just without the talent, um, well, again, WE DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU. Period. Same goes for your invites: Stop sending them. Especially if you're in some band more than 20 miles away from downtown Atlanta. We're not going to come and you're wasting our time having to delete your invite.
Want to book a show in Atlanta? Read the blog about booking Atlanta and don't email us! Yeah, it's a little out of date...but it's more info than you'll get from emailing us. Well, let me rephrase that: If you don't play a style that's remotely similar to what we're doing we really can't help you. If you're an unknown band with no draw we can't help you. We don't book shows. Hell, we rarely play in Atlanta so we really can't help you. Sorry! If you happen to be a good fast hardcore band and you really think you can do well here then first read the blog and after contacting those places go ahead and eamil us. If you're a big-name touring band then you probably don't need our help, but those shows we can generally set up somewhere around town. If you're an international band touring the states and you play fast hardcore or punk, sure send me an email and I'll try to help since many of you guys have helped us a ton over the years. But I get so many emails from garage-rock bands and shit emo bands that would get eaten by our "fans" that I feel I have to put this out there.
All that shit aside: A little history of The Despised
We formed in 1995
We broke up in 2000 so our singer could deal with a divorce and work on raising a kid
We reformed in 2005
We've done three full European tours in 2006, 2007 & 2008 and played Punk & Disorderly in Berlin in Feb of 2009
We've done three full Japanese tours in 2006, 2007 & 2008
We're currently booking a full US tour for September/October of 2009 (and we'd love any help we can get on this!)
We'll be returning to Europe in 2010 and hopefully more international destinations including a return to Japan in 2010 and beyond.
Ya know, we had this great bio written up with history and all that shit and then Designated Dale from Razorcake magazine summed it up best of all:
"This isn’t that pull-up-your-goddamned-sagging-pants, nü-metal, craptacular OzFest “hardcore.” And it sure as shit ain’t that mesh-trucker-cap-pulled-to-the-side-of-your-head-with-an-H2O-hoodie-on-in-90-degree-heat “hardcore,” either. No, FUCK alla that. This is “get in, or get the fuck out” hardcore. The real deal. This is The Despised." –Designated Dale

Please note: All album and T-Shirt art was drawn by Marvel Comics master
ROD WHIGHAM and all art is copywritten by The Despised. The band name "The
Despised" is also Federally and Internationally Trademarked and owned by
The Despised so if you started a band by the same name, you'll probably want
to change the name of your band. (Sorry kids!)
