Dessa is also a writer--which is necessarily less rowdy, but can involve just as many rum and cokes. She writes funny/sad true stories, sends them to magazines, and often as not she receives funny/sad rejection slips. She's received grants from the MN Arts Board and the Jerome Foundation; has been published in the Vestal Review and Spout Magazine; and perseveres in the vain attempt to impress her little brother.
so, dessa. here's the thing. i was told from a source i consider to be highly reliable (specifically, you) that some new music was hitting us by the end of the month.
and yet i've seen no publicity or anything, and i'm getting worried.
as ridiculous as it sounds i will probably coordinate my next trip to minneapolis with a doomtree show, preferably one with you on the bill. so, if you could get something together around january that'd be great.
Wish I were able to see the Ani/Dessa show. Too bad I was living it up at a sober, jesus freakin', dancing with the lights on wedding... Yeah, it was that fun.
If and When-is about the only song that makes me feel real since my fiance left me, thank you...I hope you make it to Omaha/Sioux Falls in the near future
Saw the show at the State opening for Ani. I haven't seen ya before that but you were friggen awesome! BTW, how funny would that have been if they didn't let you back into the theater, good thing I was there to vouch for you at the door ;)
This night is for the dancers and party people to release and listen to the music! Come with an open mind, put your inhibitions to the side, and be one with the dance floor community!!
This night will not be about the progression of multiple dj’s. This night will be about the journey,depth and story of just 1.
