Formed in the blistering hot desert oasis that is Las Vegas, Destruction of a Rose isn’t a band to be taken lightly or glossed over. The group has been called a “searing, double-bass-pounding metal machine, effortlessly jumping between old-school Pantera-style thrash and modern melodic metalcore” by Alternative Press and was also featured by AP and Hails n Horns as one of their featured unsigned bands of the month just before signing with Standby Records.

Putting themselves out there for everyone to hear was their one and only goal when it came time to record Suspended in Time. “We felt with the songs we had written that this could really be our breakthrough album; to take us from being just a locally and regionally known act to a nationally respected band. We’ve been able to be on the road constantly since its release so I feel we’re headed in the right direction.” Singer Evan Foxx spoke about the album. Blistering and beautiful with its drastic combination of sounds, Suspended in Time is complex and catchy. "We're metal as fuck-our music raises the dead from their graves," says guitarist Nick Rose. "Yet, on the other hand, it makes you want to go skipping through a field of daisies."

At the end of March, Destruction of a Rose entered Lambesis Studios with Tim Lambesis and Daniel Castleman (Impending Doom, Underneath the Gun, As I Lay Dying, etc.) to record their Standby Records’ debut EP. “We’ve recorded with Tim and Daniel before and we were very anxious to get back in the studio with them.” Guitarist Gordon Lamont commented. “We broke the recording session down into two parts, doing three songs at a time.” Foxx added. “Tim and Daniel had a lot of input and guidance for us during the recording of this album. Their advice really helped to guide the album along.” Completing the lineup of Destruction of a Rose is: Evan Foxx (vocals), Nick Rose (guitars/vocals), Gordon Lamont (guitars), Daniel Castro (bass), Jerry Walker (drums).

The most important thing to Destruction of a Rose has been the chance to build their relationship with their fans. “We’re just real people and we definitely want to get that across. Our live show has remained consistent and energetic and that’s really valuable in helping us connect with our fans. We try to bring them in not only to the experience of going to a show but also into the life of Destruction of a Rose, hoping to make this a personal experience for us as well as them.” Foxx included.

Filling up their resume with Warped Tour, tour dates with Suffokate, Sea of Treachery, Blind Witness, No Bragging Rights, Planes Crash, Tonight is Glory, Modern Day Escape, And Hell Followed With, and more, Destruction of a Rose will keep themselves busy through the end of 2009.
