Detonation first formed in the autumn of 1997 as a black metal side-project (under the name Infernal Dream), by Koen (vocals/guitar), Thomas (drums) and Mike (guitar). A year later Otto joined on bass and this was the line-up as it remained until 2008. In January 2000 the first mini CD "Lost Euphoria" came out.
In June 2003 the first full-length album "An Epic Defiance" was recorded in Hans Pieters' Excess studios, and later on released worldwide by Osmose Productions from France, to which the band signed for 3 albums.
The 2nd full-length album "Portals To Uphobia" was recorded in Excess studios during December 2004 & January 2005 and was released September 12th 2005 on The End Records in the US and Osmose Productions in the rest of the world.
During the first months of 2007 the 3rd album "Emission Phase" was recorded in Split Second Sound studios with producer Jochem Jacobs, and is out now through Osmose Productions! See elsewhere on this profile to order your copy now!
In March 2008 the band assigned Danny Tunker (Fuelblooded, The Saturnine) to handle guitar, while Koen decided to focus on handling the vocals only from this point on. Also, the band parted ways with drummer Thomas Kalksma. After doing several shows as a session drummer, Michiel van der Plicht (Toxocara, Prostitute Disfigurement) has now become a full time member of the band. I accept PROTOOLS sessions, LOGIC PRO sessions, OMFS and individual files with 0-start. If you have tracks that are depending on a certain plug-in, always bounce or record this to a new track. If you deliver PROTOOLS sessions, you need to clear the session of unwanted information, especially if you plan to upload the project. The easiest and best way to clear a session would be: Remove every hidden and muted track that is not supposed to be in the mix. Remove every playlist not in use (if you worked with playlists). After you have done this, select unused regions and choose "clear", and then "remove". Now use the "Save Copy In" command from the File menu. Check the boxes for "all audio files", and "don't copy fade files". Don't change anything else. Choose a location and hit "save". This will create a smallest possible session copy that you can zip/rar and upload, or put directly on the hard drive/DVD discs that you send here.
