David's Interests
|
| General | There's far too many, but really not enough. I'll try to keep it brief and to the point(more or less).
I spend some time hanging my hat in the art arena among others. In all its forms, be it paint, photo, print, music, movie, stage. However it's chosen to be expressed. Artists have my thanks for giving what they create to the world, even if it isn't always appreciated or understood.
My family, who keeps (and drives me)(In)sane.
Also, my friends, who actually mean more than they know to me. Even if I can't always be around them (or in the same city), they will always be near and dear to me, distances be damned. And to those I havent met nor seen in what would seem to be a lifetime, I hope you are well.
Okay, those were the big things, here's the small things: Music, movies, comedy, horror, the greatness of Calvin and Hobbes. I love to read, yes, for fun. Comics(geek alert), Going out to any club or bar (as long as it doesn't suck). Playing pool, even if I could use some improvement. I've kind of become addicted to Wikipedia lately too. I enjoy going to various exhibits, when I can find the time of course. Still wanting to do a little of the photography thing as well, though again, when I can find the time. I love to exercise and go for a run, try to go as much as I can throughout the week. Also, to a degree, tattoos, though designing them, being satisfied with the design and getting the money is a process. I love to drive, to learn, to live...though to varying degrees and not always at the same time...well, maybe I do.
Also, I do eagerly await the coming zombie apocalypse...maybe that's what all of this bird flu nonsense will bring about. That should be fun.

 | | Music | Okay, this could really take a while. Not going to list everything, just maybe a good amount, Genres on the whole are pretty much meaningless to me, as long as it's good music. Here goes: VAST, Anathema, the Gathering, Sarah Brightman, Denali, Tegan and Sara,A Perfect Circle, Rilo Kiley, Combichirst, Agonize, Wolfsheim, Harland, Placebo, Halou, Dredg, In Flames, Soilwork, Ivy, Shadows Fall, Killswitch Engage, P.O.S., Goldfrapp, Devil Driver, Portishead, Sage Francis, Rise Against, Tiger Army, Massive Attack, Loquat, Atmosphere, Natalie Walker, Iced Earth, Mellowdrone, Imperative Reaction, Arch Enemy, Candiria, Daughter Darling, Ghostface Killah, Styrofoam, The Notwist, Hungry Lucy, Strapping Young Lad, Devin Townsend Band, Tool, Tristania, Emiliana Torrini, Esthero, A Girl Called Eddy, Etro Anime, Telepopmusik, Mellowdrone, Flowing Tears, Dark Tranquility, Deltron, Zeromancer, Anti-Flag, After Forever, Collide, MF Doom, Delerium, Gretchen Lieberum, Kill Hannah, Rachel Loshak, KMFDM, Lamb of God, Lady Sovereign, Muse, Lacuna Coil, Jeff Buckley, Ours, Gnarls Barkley, Puracane, Opeth, Passenger, Nightwish, Hatebreed, My Ruin, Jack Off Jill, Pushmonkey, Scarling, Seraphim Shock, Ray Charles, Elvis, Kidney Thieves, Sneaker Pimps, Yo La Tengo, Claire Voyant, Otis Redding, Miles Davis, Conjure One, Mazzy Star, Ambulette, Children of Bodom, Disarmonia Mundi, Dry Kill Logic, Jurassic 5, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Mandalay, Talib Kweli, Sigur Ros, Snake River Conspiracy, The Birthday Massacre, Trivium, VNV Nation...okay, I think that's more than enough, you probably didn't actually read all of that, but there's more so keep going (or not)...

| | Movies | And we continue here, thankfully this one won't be near as long...though...still. Like to think I'm a little bit of a movie buff and I will watch anything, b-movie to chick flick, as long as it doesn't suck. I generally prefer horror movies over most, particularly zombie movies: Amelie, The Fountain, Blade Runner, What Dreams May Come, Night of the Living Dead (remake over the original), Dawn of the Dead (original and remake), Day of the Dead, Land of the Dead, Dead Alive, Shopgirl, Garden State, Casablanca, Zombi, Back to the Future(1/2/3), Alien, Aliens, Alien 3 (very underrated), Terminator(1/2/3), Crash(2005), The Hills Have Eyes, Man on Fire, Gattaca, Afraid of the Dark, Amityville, The Wickerman, X-Men, X2, Batman Begins, Superman, The Iron Giant, The Fox and the Hound, The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast...most all Disney animated movies, Spanglish, Fight Club, Black Hawk Down, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Se7en, Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Grave of the Fireflies, Near Dark, 100 Girls, Flight of the Navigator, Constantine, Dead and Breakfast, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Robin Hood: Men in Tights, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, A Very Long Engagement, Metropolis, Jacobs Ladder, Dark City, Gladiator, Stir of Echoes, Wolf Creek, Can't Hardly Wait, , Indiana Jones Trilogy, Bourne Identity/Supremacy, Event Horizon, Donnie Darko, AI, The Sure Thing, Moulin Rouge, The Notebook(QUIET!), Groundhog Day, The Matrix, The Fog, Stand By Me, Short Circuit, King Kong, Videodrone, The Brood, Serenity, The Fifth Element, Hellraiser, Shiri, Vampire Hunter D/Bloodlust, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Frailty...okay, I think that was more than you probably needed to know, so I'll spare you the large amount that's left, though if you read it all, good on you. | | Television | Well, the majority of the things I actually watch have been cancelled, so thank doG for DVD, Dead Like Me, Heroes, Battlestar Galactica, Veronica Mars, Lost, Firefly, Angel, Home Movies, Smallville, Friends (I know), Undeclared, Freaks and Geeks, Scrubs, Point Pleasant. There's others, but I actually don't pay much attention to what's on. | | Books | Ender's Game, American Gods, Choke, Fight Club, Lullaby, The Sandman, Enchantment, Stardust, It, Neverwhere, Demons, The Hot Zone, Good Omens, Pastwatch: The Redemption of Christopher Colombus, The Horla, The Fuck Up, I Am Legend, Hell House, Supertoys Last All Summer Long, Dear Theo, The Zombie Survival Guide, World War Z. | | Heroes | Everyone I've met, who's effected me in even the smallest manner. There's always an after effect when our stories cross paths.
As well as everyone I've never meet, briefly met or...have yet to meet. To the first, the next, or the last time, I look forward to it.
To all, my thanks. |

About me:
I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4

Well...the last time I checked, my name is David and that is me in the pic over there to your left and up a little. Not sure how much of anything there is to say about everything...I spend my time trying to work my way through the maze they call life. I can be quite cynical...but I'd like to think I'm an optimistic cynic. Occasionally and periodically I say 'hi' and meet new and different people along the way. Some of them even stick around to get to know me. These people I can honestly say I would risk everything for. My friends, my family.
I spend some time writing, there's some links above and below to some of the blogs I tend to favor...little musings on life, if you read them, good on that. If not, so be it.
I also spend a good amount of time drawing, and working on various artworks and designs. Occasionally I paint, or watercolor...which are kind of the same thing, but oh well. Art in general, is life. Which brings me to the next thing, music. It's very much an addiction and something that I could not, nor would not want to live without. To me it's one of the greatest things there can ever be. I also love to watch movies, primarily horror but overall everything. Though there are very few opinions I actually trust, I will watch any and every type of genre, it truly doesn't matter. As long as it's good (and that term is HIGHLY relative), I'll watch it. Go look over at the general interest and music, movie area...you'll get a better picture.
I've some of my stuff here at this site: Deviant Art
There is always a more complicated story behind the simple one, trick is to know how much of it you wish to know. But all you really have to do is ask.
So, if I'm online, feel free to say 'loha, or Hi...or anything else, the AIM SN is: ddeus13.

Who I'd like to meet:
Well, if anything,I've always been a sucker for a pretty smile and a piercing gaze.
One thing I have to say...please, unless it's meant to be taken facetiously (dictionary.com), correct english please. It's a little funny and well...sad, really just how mangled the enlish language can become. Especially as it pertains to the internet. Which adds one more thing, I really cannot abide the useless people of this planet (and they seem to be out there in droves). So, if you want to play at your ignorance, by all means, do it elsewhere. There is already a saying about arguing on the internet, a mildly offensive one I might add. So feel free to look it up if you please, Google is only a click away.
