BIO Short: SUPREME////////////////
Supreme is truly gifted as one who wears many hats in the music industry: musician, performer, producer, arranger, composer. Supreme excels in all the aforementioned fields.
Based in Birmingham, Alabama (home of American Idol winners Ruben Studdard and Taylor Hicks), Supreme also holds down the evening slot on Hot 107.7 from 6pm-11pm as well as The Saturday Morning Old Shool Mix Show for 7am-11am. Supreme (who also records, produces, and performs as Marlon Malone) is the man behind the production of D.C. artist W.Ellington Felton’s break-out hit "Funky Feeling", which is making its rounds receiving airplay on BETJ’s Soul Sessions, The BETJ List, and on VH1 Soul. Supreme is currently working on the follow-up to his 2005 self-released EP "Marlon Malone Experience" which is also the name of his six piece band. He is also crafting
masterpieces for Raheem DeVaughn and Patty Tyler (formerly of Diddy’s Making the Band3).
Born in Detroit, Michigan, Supreme has always been naturally musically gifted. His father Johnny Malone is a vocalist/songwriter in the band Malone and Barnes. As a
youngster, Supreme was always around music as his fathers’ travels took his family all over the United States. Supreme migrated down south in 1992 to attend college. He left college to work at Motown Records in Los Angeles in 1995. After two years with Motown, Supreme headed back to B ’ham to work in radio (he was a mass communications major in school) and take over his father’s half of the publishing company Lonebar Music. Part of his
responsibilities included returning the company to it’s prominence back when it was active (the catalog includes the disco classic "Boogie Oogie Oogie" by A Taste of Honey). Supreme accomplished this by licensing sample usage of his father’s material. R. Kelly utilized a
sample from "Disco Dancin’" (another song Malone wrote for A Taste of Honey) for "Money Makes the World Go ‘Round" from his 1998 double album "R". After working diligently with a host of local artists, Supreme co-founded
The Eargasm which became Birmingham’s hot spot for hip hop culture between 1999-2004. He also joined a local jazz-funk band called Mecca’s Groove in 2000. Supreme was the
recipient of Da Dirty 30's favorite producer award two years in a row. After proving himself in B’ham, Supreme then returned to Detroit in 2001 and was introduced to legendary keyboardist and former P-Funk all star Amp Fiddler, who is credited with teaching Jay Dee (J-Dilla Rest In Peace) his way around the mpc. This would prove to be a pivotal point in Supreme’s career. Fiddler had a string of critically acclaimed EP’s which sold well overseas, but was looking for the soulful sound that would break him stateside. While working on the album that would eventually become the nu soul classic "Waltz of a Ghetto Fly", Amp Fiddler heard Supreme banging out the beat which became the piano-driven "Unconditional Eyes". Supreme also co-wrote two more Amp classics: The first single "I Believe in You" and "U Bring Me Vibes" which appeared on Only Child’s "Solitaire" album. He also sang background
on the Amp/Moodymann track "I’m Doing Fine". Suddenly Supreme finds himself in the samecategory as mega-producers Dilla, Raphael Saadiq, and Kenny Dixon Jr., but it doesn’t stop there. After learning from such a great teacher, Supreme figured it would be wise to branch
out and work with more of the elite talents from the "D", especially since Detroit was experiencing a breakthrough in music that had not been prevalent since the Motown
"Hitsville" days. This was the right time. Supreme sought out Barak Records, label home to Slum Village. Owner RJ Rice introduced Supreme to Detroit underground legend Phat Kat, who in turn introduced Supreme to Vernon Da German (engineer and music director for Dwele). Supreme went on to do studio work for the likes of Slum Village and Dwele. Supreme co-produced several tracks on Vernon Da German’ s 2005 release "Other Side of the Glass". Supreme is currently recording tracks for his next solo release "Balancing Act".

hollaback...this info will probably be uncomfortable, but let me tell u this...we learned in school that one of the Negro spirituals or slave songs was "cum bah Yah"(come by here), we were not permitted to learn to read and write english, so who taught the slaves how to sing songs in the hebrew tongue? (Gen.15:13-14/Jer.16:14-15/Deut.28th chptr). Also, why is "Halleluyah" said to be the highest praise?...because it's the only thing christians say with the Creators true name in it, "Hallelu-YAH"(YAHUAH or Yahweh). We have the pieces to the puzzle, who takes the time to put them together?
