There are not many cities in this world that are affiliated with music, but a few do pop into mind. L.A. for it's rock, Nashville for it's country, and New York and London for it's punk and alternative. These are very diverse ranges in the audible world. With many sounds being regurgitated these days, it's difficult to find something that gives rise to this stagnant world of monotonous sound. Bring in Denver's own Devil Got Five. These 5 diehard musicians are born from every musical genre and sub-genres. DG5 integrates everything from early Delta Blues like Son House and Robert Johnson, to progressive/alternative rock and metal like Lacona Coil, Janes Addiction, Pantera and Concrete Blonde. To even the most underground punk like Seattle's Accused and Englands G.B.H. Taking this mix has brought DG5 into their own genre. Hearing the elements of blues, rock, punk, metal, shoegaze and even a fraction of the darkest Scandanavian metal can be found in DG5's mix of audible bliss, and with perfect balance. It's also a balance that has not gone unforeseen. Colorado Local Legends writer Jake Ryan states "Anyone would be hard pressed to find another band creating the same sound as Devil Got 5, as they incorporate so many different styles into their music." Other reviews go on by saying, "It's 10 songs of female-fronted rockin' Metal that is Gothy and Punky and hooky and sometimes sounds like the action theme from a modern medieval movie soundtrack, and other times like the songs spinning at one of Hell's keggers." writes Groovey from Colorado Music Buzz and Tom Murphy of WestWord states "Devil Got Five displays a flair for creative dynamics and lyrics here that intelligently and sensitively articulate the passions of a raging heart." These five masterminds have quite the extensive background in musical history, locally and abroad. Coming from a broad range of musical backgrounds, this melting pot of artists shine. In a world that needs less assembly line gimmicks and more truth and passion in the sound, Devil Got Five deliver!
