Devius es una banda de Death Metal originaria de la ciudad de Córdoba, Argentina cuyo principal objetivo es la destrucción de barreras entre estilos musicales en sus composiciones y la trasgresión de dichos límites, lo cual no permite el etiquetamiento de la banda en un género, aunque generalmente se acepta la inclusión de la misma en la categoría Death Metal técnico/progresivo. El principal atractivo de Devius es su originalidad en cuanto a sonido, composición y estructuración de temas y la tendencia a incluir elementos y técnicas de músicas en apariencia disímiles como death metal, black metal, trash metal, jazz, fusión, rock progresivo, world music, música clásica antigua y contemporánea, étnicas, ambient, experimental, y un largo etcétera. These musicians came together to elaborate music inspired by death and progressive metal, making use of brutal extreme voices and other elements from classical death and blackened death metal and mixing it with different elements and styles. Devius started out fueled by the passion of creating original music and the admiration for bands like Opeth, Cynic, Behemoth, Atheist, Morbid Angel, Dissection, Death and many others. Classical music and jazz elements can also be found in Devius music.
