“Be Positive. Always Be Positive.”
Devon Kay & the Solutions live and die by that motto. Started during a lull in Devon Kay’s music career, he enlisted friends from former bands to start a group that tried for energetic, positive live shows and creative, thoughtful music. And, dag nabbit, how they have succeeded.
Pulling influence from several genres of rock and pop, the Solutions call what they play, “Indie Shuffle” - a term coined by fellow Chicago artist Sergio from The Rememberwhens. “It’s the culmination of all the embarrassing, corny pop music mixed in with all your hip, never-heard-before music. I dare you to not tap your feet when you hear us play...I FUCKING DARE YOU!” says Doug Yamate, lead guitarist of the band.
Having already played all over the midwest, landing gigs at great Chicago venues like Subterranean and Bottom Lounge, not to mention an onslaught of FREE HOUSE SHOWS they are planning this year, the Solutions are going to do their absolute best to stay on the cutting edge of Chicago’s underground Indie Shuffle scene...which is only two bands as of now...but you understand.
