PERSONAL BIO
I have been performing music since I was 4 years old. I would stand on the street corner and sing songs from "West Side Story" I would also go from house to house and sing Beatles songs for ice cream (Boy, was I a little hustler!)
I now live in Los Angeles with my wife and my two children. They are the inspiration and strength that keeps me going in my pursuit of musical happiness!

WORLD VOICE NEWS (Album Review - Dec. 20 2007)
Devon Scott Dicker is the son of Broadway singer, Mace Barrett. From his early years in New York he was influenced by his father's profession. He's had the opportunity to show his wares from Greenwich Village to Los Angeles. Dicker's most recent accomplishment is his new release "I Believe". It's a collection of acoustic flavored songs both well-written and performed. Devon Scott Dicker takes on the guitar and lead vocal chores, backed-up effectively by Duane Waider (drums, vocals), O.B. Smith (Bass, vocals), J.D. Bender (Keyboards), Ben Tapia (Percussion, vocals), and Jeff Elliot (Trumpet, keyboards, vocals).
Starting with the title track, "I Believe", Devon Scott Dicker has put together a collection of spiritual and uplifting songs accenting the positive. The flowing guitars and Gordon Lightfoot meets Elvis vocals are unique and entertaining. Production values are top notch, with a thumbs up to music producer, Robert Roth. On "Heaven Help Me" Dicker offers up another catchy tale, another day in the life. The horn accents are a nice addition, with a soft keyboard break two-thirds in rolling into the horn lead. The delightful lullaby, "Say Your Prayers" has a folk flavor to it, a touch of Jim Croce. WIth "So Proud" we get a bit more of a country flavor, highlighted by the steel guitar sound on the intro.
The material on this cd has a resemblance to Gerry Rafferty. Both "Voice On The WInd" and "All Our Dreams" give us an opportunity to hear Dicker's higher vocal range. There is a whole lotta' Elvis in his voice on these selections. "One Nation" is a patriotic tribute to the freedom our country represents. Proceeds from this song are being donated to The Fisher House Charity which helps the families of wounded soldiers. With his heart in the right place and the talent to show it off Devon Scott Dicker has put together an impressive collection of material that is easy listening but meaningful at the same time. This is family music, no profanity, nothing negative, only positive and motivating lyrics.
This would be a nice addition to anyone's record stack All around this is a fine assemblance of songs that would be as enjoyable on a rainy day as it would on a picnic.
