Howard Bass has been DJ since early teenagehood, getting hold of his brothers old Soundlab belt-drives around his twelfth birthday. His mixing started with the classic house tunes of the mid nineties, then moving across through the harder genres of dance music and finding his first love with the early broken-beat happy hardcore. He use to spend endless hours digging through second hand record shops trying to find that ultimate tune.
Many teenagers spend months saving up their pocket money to buy a new bike or computer game, but Howard was different. He spent a whole summer digging up his parents backyard just so he could afford a sound system for his mates party (where the neighbours had moved out and gone camping by midnight, and the house was left in a complete wreck). With his new-found roots he soon got his dirty-mits on the mighty sound of Drum n Bass attending his first proper rave in mid 2004(KitHill 2004). Howard was soon sneaking away at weekends to One Nation partys in London & Birmingham. By now he was gaining vital experience playing out at every house party within his local area. Getting frustrated by promoters not taking him seriously as a underage Dj, he was driven deep into the underground southwest rave scene, stirring up fans and friends from every direction he was fast grabbing the attention of local crews and soon found himself playing with J-Damm & Doomka. He was taken in by the Dnbjungle.net commuity and made a proper family member by all involved.
Through other episodes in his life he found his way onto a music course studying at local studios, building a home set-up he found with production software, you didn't have to be rich, classically trained with trombone lessons to make music and barnstorming beats. This also lead him onto being a key manager for the "Chew TV 2007 Youth Music Tour".
He completed a B-Tech in Sound Engineering & Music Technology at Deep Blue Sound (Plymouth) in June 2008. Since then he has played along side Keaton, Moving Fusion, and most recently J-Majik at The NewBridge Festival 2009, Howard continues to DJ & produce Drum n Bass and is currently studying for a Degree in Music Production at The School of Sound Recording in Manchester.
