.. "You Are My Sunshine" dedicated to my niece, Darian Nicole Ok! About Me! My name is Dewayna Melinda Killen. I am a licensed Elementary and Middle school teacher. I have taught first, second and third grades. My first class was a group of 27 second graders! I taught second grade for 3 years. I went to third grade with my last class, before I then went to FIRST GRADE for two years!! A total of 6 years at a small country school in Loudon County, TN. I love teaching!I hope to return to the classroom someday! I am involved in church! I attend Victory Baptist Church, here in Madisonville. It is a small, traditional church. It sits underneath a huge American Flag ! I think that it looks like a church that should be on a postcard! I enjoy walking with my four year old Black Lab. Her name is Raven! She and I walk to the park where she gets in the creek there. Raven and I are natural born water lovers! She also likes to go down the slide and play in the sandbox with the children. (Just as I) I live in a condo, almost downtown Madisonville. I enjoy the conviences, however, I would love to return to the country life again someday! I grew up on a small farm (about 80 acres) in Roane County, TN. We had cows, pigs, chickens, a few lambs, and only one horse for a very brief time. I love being outdoors! I love to fish, although I haven't been in a while. I love to water ski! My dad and I spent alot of time on the lake when I was a kid. He, my mom and my brother and I camped alot. Dad and I would fish while mom and Dewayne were swimming! I have a flower garden out back and that's most often where I am at! Sitting on my backportch, I love to listen and watch the birds, and just watch my plants and flowers grow! I saw Dale Earnhart race at Taladega! He came from 11th to first place in the last few laps!! It was very exciting!! I would like to see Dale,JR race also! My dream home is a log or timber-framed home with a big pond in the front, so that I could watch the ducks, my lab Raven and maybe a few horses play! Oh! I also just recently got a new baby kitten. My niece left it with me this month as she and Mark came to spend a few weeks with me for the summer! Darian had already named her Oreo. She is a little black and white Tuxcedo cat. I call her Orie or Cookie Monster most of the time. Darian rescued her but she defintely made herself at home!! Ha! Raven is very protective of her, but I feel like she thinks like I at times, "Just what should I do with you?" She likes to bite and she attacks Raven first thing in the morning, but then sleeps right beside her at night. Pals for life, I guess! I am now taking piano lessons, and I want to be able to play in church someday. I have several favorite gospel songs. I wish that I had the ability to write music but, unfortunately I cannot! I love artists who write their own songs! Although I have never visited the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN, I would like to someday! I really like all kinds of music, but I am a true country music fan! In closing, my philosophy of THIS LIFE is that " "Happiness is not a state to arrive at but rather, a manner of traveling"! (a quote that I found on my weekly planner) My final destination is my heavenly home! Jude 21 says for us to "Keep ourselves in GOD"S LOVE as we wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring us eternal life."

    I had lots of fun at the Festival of Trees and shopping with you Saturday.  Whether we are buying or just window shopping it's always fun.  I hope you can enter a tree next year.  You will have so many good ideas they might have to let you decorate one of the big trees.  We have to tell Pat about this event.  She would love it since she is Ms. Santa Claus anyway.  The day just went by too fast Saturday.  Time always flies by when we shop cause we are having fun.  I'm sure I will become a regular browser at Lowe's and Home Depot in the future.  When we get the house all decorated, we can start on David's pout house. LOL.

    There goes the neighborhood for sure when we move in.  Since we did not get the hot tub, David will have to build a redneck hot tub using a bathtub and campfire. LOL.  Just promise you will help me decorate the house.  I see lots of shopping trips hunting for bargains in the future.  We might even decorate David's pout house/garage/workshop.  He says he is putting up a sign that says No Girls Allowed.  Like that's gonna stop us from crashing into his man cave!

    We had a pretty good time trick-or-treating.  Hunter was tired and was ready to quit early.  He was asleep before we got out of Madisonville.  He probably got up early and we spent quite a while in Wal-Mart before heading out.

    Sounds like the party was a big success.  I remember seeing Dana dance until her hair was wet with sweat.  Hunter likes the big butts song too.  I still can't believe David is the one who got that CD.

    Come by for lunch tomorrow if you can.
