The Anglesey-based musician and composer Dewi Evans has written music for the theatre, radio and TV in Wales, but is probably best known as the keyboard playing half of the enigmatic music duo
Rheinallt H. Rowlands. Between 1993 and 2001 they released three critically acclaimed albums, most notably 'Bukowski' which was chosen as one of The Independent's CDs of the year in 1996.
In recent years Dewi has collaborated extensively with the Welsh dancer and artist Eddie Ladd, writing music for six of her theatre projects including the award winning 'Club Luz' (2002), which has been performed all over Europe and more recently 'Cof y Corff/Muscle Memory' (2007), commissioned by The Royal Opera House 2 in London.
Dewi is also a member of the Anglesey avant-pop band
Parking Non-Stop, whose first album 'Species Corridor' was released recently by the German record label Klangbad.
Dewi's current projects include '(in)scape', a new collaboration with the Brighton based movement artist
Jo Shapland, which will premiere at the newly refurbished Oriel Mostyn Gallery in Llandudno, North Wales when it re-opens in 2010. The music element of this has been funded by the Performing Right Society Foundation (PRSF) after a successful application earlier this year.
