Derek was skating College Park alone fell and hit his head and back really bad, was knocked out and died, due to the fact that he was skating alone and noone was there to help him. He was found several hours after he had fallen and they found out that he had passed away. Derek was an incredible individual, who had been through some really amazing things. Derek was a really fun person to be around. He had the whole mentality of not caring what others thought about him, and he really was able to be himself, which is what made him such a great person. I hope that all of you take a minute to think about such a great fellow skateboarder and the great life he lived, through the tough times and the good ones. I am contacting his parents about the memorial service so I will let you all know when that is and I encourage as many of you to come if you can, so we can show our respect. May Derek always be alongside us riding his skateboard.

lol i just read the last comment i left and i feel real good. ive been committing to all my tricks and shit. i committed to a front pop shuv down the 3 flat first try but fell cuz the crack. but i did land it third try. and dude that dream was mad weird. im trying to relate teaching me to walk up walls with skateboarding. i dont know. but yeah man ive been getting better. and im stoked i committed some nollie shuvs down some 3 stairs for you, it was gnarly haha. peaceeee

wow dex its been a year since i saw you at bowie u were one cool dude even though you always thought we were in the matrix. u were trippin on something i remember when i hit my shin on a ledge and u used ur healing powers on me. R.I.P. Dex u were one cool guy.
Peep the flier for information, this is a memorial event so no entree fee is required. We will be grilling and providing some drinks but its probably best to bring some drinks cause its probably going to be hot, bring whoever is down with skateboarding and especially if you were down with Derek.

its been almost a year now. we still talk about memories with you all the time like gov's bridge road and those crazy guys that were yelling at us in that car? and mica freeked out and made us leave...
