   About Dexrays
Dexrays a history lesson... It was a cold & snowy night (or early morning) back in February 2000 when Rich & Dex met at a party... after a few cocktails the truth was revealed, and one of the best damn rhythm sections north of New Orleans was formed. They added a couple of guitar players one from Canada, rocker David Bailey and headlined with a few women vocalists for several years. Like bees making honey, they soon hooked up with another famous Canadian, "Honeymoon Suites", Derry Grehan, and Steve "the harp" Mehlberg from Bloomington to collaborate on their 2005 independent CD self titled "DEXRAYS" which was recorded in Memphis Tn. at the Famous "Sun Studio" - when Derry headed north of the border to tour with hms, the groovin band from Central Illinois found, Eric "the kid" Hughes, singing locally and Alex Chadwick on guitar. 2006 now sets the power trio (plus one) with a great lead singer and begins yet a third or fourth (depending on how you count) evolution of central Illinois best rock... Dexter grew up in New Orleans digging Funk, Blues & Jazz the likes of Tower of Power and Billy Cobham. Rich grew up in Chicago listening to Chicago Blues and the world famous band Chicago. Eric "the kid" actually studied music in school and toured with several jazz bands for years while enjoying life and seeing the world. What sets the DEXRAYS apart from other bands are two important things... 1) The fact that they all have boring day jobs but are diehard musicians in spite of it all. 2) If they play your house, the house will rock and the people will come! The boys are most influenced by money and beer (oh you mean musically)... Musically by the Blues first, Funk second and all the other stuff in between a close third... The DEXRAYS evolve every few years... Keep checking the site I'm sure they'll add the next chapter soon. The Dexrays play everything from Neil Young to Jet to Sublime and Counting Crows, as well as their own original music. Earlier this year, the guys recorded their first album at the historical SunStudios in Memphis. SunStudios was the birthplace of legendary recordings by artists such as Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, and B.B. King. You can visit the studio's interactive site at http://www.sunstudio.com. We've been adding some new tunes to the setlist, and always want to hear what YOU want to hear at our shows. Drop us a note here on MySpace.com or visit our original site at http://www.dexrays.com, where you can email us directly or sign our guestbook. If you've been at a show recently, you might be on our 'photos' page, too.

Sure as the stars shine above

But this is Christmas, yes, Christmas my dear

The time of year to be with the one you love."
