Desley was born in Brisbane and raised by Greek parents. She was subjected to all styles of music and her culture played a big part in her enjoyment of music. Her father loved Elvis so he was definitely a big influence to all the family during this period. During her teenage years Desley was herself subjected to much of what was popular to most young adolescents. Having always loved singing she adopted a love for blues music and now is living the dream and singing in a blues band and hosting jams with other blues musicians in Westend.

When Desley is performing she likes to impart her love for music onto her audience. When she is on the stage, it seems, there is nowhere she would rather be.
