About me:
Founded in 1981, the Dallas/Fort Worth Network of Hispanic Communicators is an organization comprised of working print and broadcast journalists, public relations professionals and members of the community. Our mission is to nurture -- through mentoring and scholarships -- young Hispanics interested in entering the field of communications. We also strive to further the employment and career opportunities of Hispanics in the news media, and provide a forum for issues important to the Hispanic community.
The purpose of the Network is to:
• Identify and organize Hispanics' work in electronic and print communication fields.
• Encourage the hiring and advancement of Hispanic in communications professional careers.
• Promote fair treatment and accurate portrayal of Hispanics by the media.

Who I'd like to meet:
A. General Membership
Network membership is open to all professionals in electronic and print media, journalism educators, professionals in advertising and public relations and freelancers in the above categories. All general members are eligible to vote. Annual dues are $35.
B. Associate Membership
People who do not work in the media but support the goals of the Network. They can vote but not hold office.
C. Student Membership
High school and college students involved in the study of communications. Student members are not eligible to vote or hold office. Annual dues are $15.
