Matt Deegan better known as Dgun was born in
Portland, Or in 1980. Early in his life, he learned
what is was to struggle. His father left soon after
his birth. He was living with his mom and step-dad in
a low income part of Portland Known as "felony flats"
when he first got into hip-hop. He was 13 when he
started writing 16's.
Coming from bad circumstances, Dgun made alot of
wrong choices trying to make some money but learned
from every mistake. Throughout his teen years while
still getting in trouble he also honed his skill with
nieghborhood friends by recording tracks on cassette
tapes played on cheap karraeoke machines. After an
incident in 1997, In which Dgun was arrested for car
theft and eluding police officers. He decided the
days of playing around are over and he had to start
taking life serious. Being a high school dropout He
knew chances were slim he would see major success.
He decided if he was going to be successful it was
going to be from his natural talents which was
writing verses and laying em' down.
In 1999, at a house party, where freestyle battles
were goin on, he meet George Robins known as 44.cal
and Nate Rimmel a Local producer just starting in the
game. At the time Dgun was already rapping with his
good friend Cyrano. They soon started a group. Dgun,
44.cal, Cyrano and Cyrano's cousin P-note made up the
rap-group Oregonized Rhymes and got production from
N8 beats. After a few years of recording 100's of
tracks and not doing anything with them the group
slowly broke up.
He never left the booth, Dgun and 44.cal kept the
dream alive by starting Syndicate mobb Records with
there good friend Bo.
Now the Syndicate Mobb is gaining respect thru the
town by performing alot of shows and putting out REAL
hip-hop. Dgun played a big part on the
"UndergroundMovement" Mixtape that was released early

Records. Dgun showcases his realism with songs like

"I know I'm not the most lyrical, I don't pack the
most punchlines. I'm not trying to be gangsta and I'm
not trying to be a gimic. I have a true love for the
art of hip-hop. I try to stay real to myself by
staying real to hip-hop. It got me through some dark
times in my life and if I can do the same and help
people through there struggle with my music, then I
know it's for a reason. I've been doin this for a
long time under the underground patiently working on
my craft, waiting for right time to introduce myself
to hip-hop's surface. I feel ready with the focus and
drive it takes to make it in this business. I do it
all for my fan's! I will never dumb it down or take a
bar off. Trust that!" - Dgun
