Dharma Logos is the musical project of songwriter/guitarist/vocalist Aaron Wooldridge, a 25 year old California native currently residing in Virginia. I don't actually have a band yet, but I'm making music on my own with the help of my Apple computer and Garage Band 3. I've been writing songs for years, and I finally have a chance to record them.
More songs will be coming soon, as well as lyrics, photos, and more at www.dharmalogos.com.
Aaron's Gear: Carvin Custom Shop DC727 7-string guitar with active pickups and Floyd Rose, Carvin SX-300 amplifier (www.carvin.com Can I get an endorsement?), Electro Harmonix Metal Muff Distortion Pedal, Morley Steve Vai Bad Horsie wah pedal, Boss NS-2 Noise Suppressor, Squier acoustic guitar, Jay Turser 7-string, Squier Strat, M-Audio USB keyboard controller. (Thanks to Ogre for letting me use his bass and amp.)
A word about my lyrics: I write about what is real to me, what I'm going through. There is a definite religious thread running through most of my songs. I went from Christianity to Buddhism to Atheism, and my songs reflect those transformations. People have accused me of writing depressing songs, but they don't get the point. My songs deal with such topics as alienation, depression, failure, doubt, anger, loss, religion, war, and social critique. But the point of heavy metal, in my opinion, is to express all of the negative junk in your life so you can deal with it constructively and move on. It's not depressing or angry or violent. It's uplifting in a spiritual way. At least that's what metal in general and my songs in particular mean to me. I hope that someone else is lifted up by my songs too.
