"Spikey, irregular melodies, driving rhythmic pulse, jazz infused harmonies mixed with the restraint and poise of a classical chamber group"
I am a classically trained freelance composer and arranger, based in Somerset, UK. My music takes in a wide variety of influences, from classical, Indie, rock, Jazz, filmic, minimalism, free improvisat'ion, to World music and electronica.
I have worked with a number of eminent performing groups, including The Orlando Consort, The London Brass Ensemble and the Paragon Sax Quartet. I was also fortunate to have studied for a time with acclaimed English Composer Howard Skempton.
The SPNM selected my saxophone quartet ‘Metropolis’ for their 2001/2002 shortlist and his vocal quartet ‘4 Angels’ was premiered at the 2003 City of London Festival, with subsequent broadcasts on BBC Radio 3.
As well as concert music, I have written music for films, theatre and animation.
I recently completed the soundtracks for several short films; ‘9-5 Cowboy’ and 'Number Cruncher' for students of the London Film Academy as well as completing incidental music for a recent production at Strode Theatre, Somerset. I am keen to collaborate with other artists in a variety of areas and I am open to commissions of all kinds.
David's latest film soundtrack 'Number Cruncher' can viewed on the 'video' tab.

Hey David, Thanks very much for the kind words. Glad the link worked, sorry about it not working on the player, most people seem to be able to play it but I may have to think of another player if it plays up anymore.
The piece was designed for a film but the film hasn't been made, :) I'm basically writing a book together with the music..it's meant to go together one inspiring the other kind of thing.
Basically just a project to get some meaning to the music I am doing!
It's going to be months before any of this is properly finished though but will keep you informed!
