Hey there. We are Dialectic. We're an indie pop-rock band from San Francisco, playing music we like for people like us. (And everyone else, too.)
Whenever you tell people you're in a band (or in this case, you ARE a band), they ask who you sound like. The obvious answer is "We sound like us," but nobody is ever satisfied with that response. So instead we say things like, "We sound like The Clash meet The Smiths meet David Bowie." Or, "It's like Talking Heads vs. U2 vs. Weezer." Or, "We're like The Beatles. Well, not really."
But really, we sound like Dialectic. Honest songs, songs like life.
Dialectic is a three-man outfit, but a five-(plus)-piece band. How's that work, you ask? Well, there's Ying-sun (vocals, guitars), and Mario (vocals, guitars), and of course Ian (keyboards, background vocals). That's Dialectic. But we also have a bunch of friendly ne'er-do-wells who sing and play with us. And we love our ne'er-do-wells!
We are about to release our first full-length album, Laugh Like a Bandit/Love Like a Thief. It took a little while. Over the past few years, we've put out a couple of teaser CDs — six songs here, three songs there. But never an LP. Now it's here, and we think and hope that you'll like it.
After all, it sounds just like Dialectic.
Stay tuned for release information for our new record..
Whuuuuuuuzzzzzuupppp! Wanted to check in with you... Hope all is good. How are things moving? It is not only for what we do that we are held responsible, but also for what we do not do.
Stop by... Share the latest with you, mang. Stay connected.
