TelevisionI DON'T watch television. Of the television that I don't watch, sitting in the stuttering pornographic-strobe debauch at 2 am with prawn chips congealing to my mouth like misery to a baleen whale in mourning, these are the programs I wouldn't even scant consider taping compulsively to casette & displaying with questionable and demented pride of place all 'round the interior of my lavatory. HARK!: As is only gregariously adequate & contextually fitting, then, like my most cherished vermouth-felt velvet gloves, subtextually encrypted within the following list is a buried linguistic cipher. It almost certainly involves transliteration via a lexicon of dated scatalogical Polish colloquialisms, circa 1604. If such pithy, sleeward knowledge or the requisite effort evades you, or you are of unfortunate geneology, you will be most empowered to learn that the etymological missive within the said list, reads, with modernist English versatility: "He is interesting, but not very hygienic." How vital! And now, the books:

On the Road - Jack Kerouac
Catch-22 – Joseph Heller

I'm: Kirk Marshall, a Brisbane-born(e) writer, freelance illustrator, independent film-maker, and mobilized environmentalist now relocated to Melbourne via Kanagawa-ken. I hold a Bachelor of Creative Industries (Creative Writing), with Distinction from the Queensland University of Technology, and a first-class Honours degree in Professional Writing from Deakin University. The style of my writing has been characterised by Melbourne's The Age as "creating its own (arch and fruity) humour." As of 2009, I'm working towards completing Reinventing Coffee, my novel manuscript. Carnivalesque: And, Other Stories, my debut short story collection will be published by Black Rider Press in 2010.

Hey brother : ), we won..t be in Bris while ur there... Get back from Canada, July 23. As for the single there is no hard version - just iTunes. There is, however, an EP coming out Aug 23 that exists in this physical plane : ). I can post u a copy if u want one of those.
What brings u north? Sunshine, cheap petrol or ur love of all things Vegas?

Hey brother : ),
thanks for the great comment. I'd definitely be keen to play the gig/gigs u speak of: good luck getting that position! Sounds awesome. We'll be winding our way south from Bris around abouts mid Nov - the Qld leg is next. Not sure exactly when we'll be in Melb tho... But keep me posted. Doesn't sound like ur enjoying Melbs too much. Give thanks ur not in Sydney: makes Melbs look like a day out at the Show... I liked Melb the 2 weeks I spent there doing the TWS thing a fews yrs back. I was hanging with TWS folk tho and causing a racket at the G20 summit. The week in week out thing could be a grind for sure... Try going tram hopping dressed in nothing but a purple eye mask and green lantern type superjocks. I myself have not ventured down this romanticised path of freewill, however, it would seem plausible that it would not only break the monotony of public transport but also enlighten the day of all who should witness such an heroic event... The water fountain pundits would surely find in ur favour. Surely... ;-) Be well, my brother.

Hey brother,
how's Melbourne? Better than ur last traveling experience, I'm sure... : ) What's been happening? Say hi to Liberty 4 us.

Had our farewell party last night - was a great night with good friends. One of the best things was reennacting the source of Come & Go. What a trip!... : )

An EP update for u: most work completed but dont know when it will be done as a couple of mixing days are needed and the studio is booked 4 the near future... Ended up running a couple of days behind schedule - might have had something to do with the fact we recorded 7 songs instead of the 4 originally planned - so to be expected...

All the best, brother. May 2008 be a special one for you and Liberty.

Let me know when and where and I'll endeavour to attend whatever weird and wonderful event u pull together : ). I'll be under the radar tho 4 a week or more as of tomorrow. To use ur words I start recording the "goddamn" ep Friday...
