Songwriting, Nascar, reading, family, friends, hotrods, and antique cars!! And yes Halfway to Hazard, a band I truly love!!!!, I have raced against men in hotrods that me and my ex husband owned when I was younger and a fighter for the end of child abuse of any form resulting in injury or death to a child!! Believe me, I have stepped in many times to stop this, and put my life in danger as well to do so and I will continue to do so Click Here to get more at CommentYou.com

About me:
First off let me say what ever song is playing on my profile at anyime is not the way I'm necessarily feeling at that time!! LOL, That said, I'm A 50 yr old RN who has 3 grown children. As of 9/9/2007 I am now retired from nursing due to Guillen-Barre Syndrome and NES.,no return as specified by my drs.I had a serious infection with all my lab work out of wack, WBC'S were tripled and the dr had no clue at that time what was happenning to me. He started giving me double doses of antibiotics to me. I had a serious attack against my own autoimmune system which occured in my spinal fluid that traveled to my brain and caused me to have numnerous falls, even causing me to break my left foot and then my middls toe in a different situation, short term memory loss and could have actually continued further and caused the brain to cut off the oxygen for breathing and I could have died.If yo ever see a family or loved one withses problems, PLEASE toake them to the ER as soon as possible. We still at this time had no diagnosis and I suggested a spinal tap being a nurse, none was done and I was shuffled around in AL with no results.I then moved to TN who found the myelin sheaths in my legs were beginning to deteriorate,he ran tests, sticking needled in my legs, I did not feel it , nor did it show on the monitor any response.I was having very severe headaches during all this as well and he was giving me nerve blocks in the back of my head & neck.I did go to physical therapy 3 times a week to try and strengthen the leg muscles. Drs never did figure out there nor in TN until I got back to Ky what was wrong but they did find in TN that my L5 and S1 were completely dislocated to the left of my back They wanted to do surgery to keep the L5 and S1 from shifting any furher over.I refused.!!!!! We moved to Ky and I begin to see a new neurlogist My first visit he talked to me and my husband for 1 1/2 hours and diagnosed me right there, ran the tests, I had Guillen-Barre & NES.. Guillen-Barre Syndrome, which you live with the rest of your life, going in and out of remission, bad days, good days!!Same with NES!!I was receiving nerve blocks from him as well in my neck & head till we switched to more conventional methods of reliiving the pain. I can have nerve block injections every 6 months in my back, but I decided I wsn't going to do it every 6 months as long as my pain was tolerable I have mixed feelings about this siuation because I spent so much time caring for others!! I worked at Hazard Appalachian Regional Hospital in Hazard, Ky as a psychiatric nurse full time and part time at Kentucky River Medical Center in Jackson, Ky. Then I was offered a full-time position at Kentucky River Medical Center. I worked there 9 years. My oldestdaughter Lisa Gross is a teacher at LBJ Elementary in Jackson, Ky. My other daughter, Lindsay Taulbee, was the Social Services Director at the Nim Henson Geriatric Center in Jackson, Ky then changed jobs and works for the Ky River District Health Dept as a parent visitor who goes out to homes in a program called the HANDS program who this semester started working on getting her Master's Degree at UK while continuing to work. My son works for the State Highway Dept. of Transportation in Jackson, Ky, no longer commuting back and forth to Beattyville, Ky.. I have 4 beautiful grandaughters, Ashlianne, Taylor Nicole,Mckenzie Grace and Kaylee Morgan. I am married to the love of my life: a 6:3 tall Texan who is the love of my life and my soulmate!! I left Ky 7 1/2 years ago and lived 5 years in Corpus Christi, Tx and worked as a travel nurse at Alice, Tx, which was a 50 mile commute each way every day, but when you are getting paid 44.25/hr as charge nurse, it's hard to turn down. I worked medical, surgical, pediatrics, and ICU stepdown at Alice Regional Hospital. I stayed there 9 months as a travel nurse. Then I worked in every hospital in Corpus Christi except one as an agency RN for 5 years.I also worked at Padre Behavioral Psychiatric Hospital on adult, adolescent, child, and child long term care as charge nurse as well. I worked there until we moved to Montgomery, Al. Moved to Montgomery, Al and lived there for almost a year. 3 days into a new job at a rehabilitation center I became ill myself. Everything on my body was going numb, feet, hands, legs and the tip of my tongue and I would fall for no apparent reason. So I spent the whole time I was there being shuffled around from dr to dr trying to figure out what ws going on.I also had short term memory loss so the drs did not want me working nor did I want to put my patients in danger. Then we moved to Chattanooga, TN. The docs there found many things wrong with me, but could not pinpoint it to one definitive diagnosis.I moved back to Ky in July 2007 in Winchester, Ky because hubby transferred to Bluegrass Station to work on contracts for Special Operations for the military. I'm a songwriter as well, a total music freak of many genres of music!!
Also I am 1/4 Cherokee, and proud of my heritage!! My great grandmother was a full Cherokee from OK!!
