Hovannes, Tartini, John Williams, Steve Perry, Janis Ian, 80's rock, ambient, house.
Movies
Star Wars, Star Trek (yeah, even the bad ones, I guess...), The Lion in Winter, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, so many more. It would take days to list everything. Don't you have a life? Go play outside or you'll get rickets.
Television
West Wing, Hotel Babylon, The Daily Show. Argh, and too much else. Everything anime. And too many cartoons. Xiaolin Showdown, Tenchi Muyo, Shaman King, Kim Possible, you name it.
Books
Till We Have Faces, Lord of the Rings, The Dispossessed, Always Coming Home, "The Number of the Beast", Friday, The Worm Ourobouros, and about eight thousand more, must I sit here and list them for you? Sheesh.
Heroes
Tolkien,
C.S. Lewis,
Ursula LeGuin, Carl Sagan, Buzz Aldrin, Peter Ustinov, Peter O'Toole, Sean Connery, Robert Heinlein, Chris Claremont, Len Wein, Marv Wolfman, E. R. Eddison. E. Nesbit. Andre Norton: how is it we never met while you still lived? You changed my life. Descartes. Yeah, Rene Descartes. Go find a picture of him. A great mathematical genius, and a face you could tell funny stories to all night in the bar.
..
I do wizards. I've been doing them for more than twenty-five years. (Among many other things, like Star Trek, and fantasy, and science fiction, and history, and myths & legends, and TV and film, and comics and computer games.)
If you're interested, you can find some info about my writing here, and here. Info about the Young Wizards books is here; the Young Wizards news and events weblog is here. My main weblog is over here, at my website. Oh, and IMDb knows me, too.
Otherwise, you can find me in some dining car on the Continent, traveling backwards (Peter likes to face forwards, and I don't care which way I sit), drinking any white wine that isn't Chardonnay, and trying to get the computer's Bluetooth and the phone's Bluetooth to talk to each other so I can pick up the email before dessert arrives.
No milk in the coffee. Cognac afterwards (nothing fancy). What city is this again? ...
(If you have friends who do the LJ thing, I'm over here:)
I don't know how often you get this, but...first off: thanks for accepting my friend request...and, second, do you mind if go to my corner and jump up and down and squeal excitedly before I make another coherent comment on your page?
Hey Diane Duane. I just finished the fourth book of the Young Wizards Series just two days ago. I really like this series. You should make a movie out of this series. That would be really cool.
Hey Diane. I was just stopping in to say that I finished book three today. You amaze me the way you describe almost indescribable feelings-the kind you could never feel in real life but only imagine. Some of your themes are better grasped as an adult, so I am very glad I am once again taking the time to read my original favorite series. It just blows me away how DEEP your books can be. ~Dee
Hey there ! Have a great b-day ! May all your dreams and wishes come true ! May the Gods allways act to your favour ! Mised you on the Fasnacht thingy ;o)
Hi, I just wanted to say that I am re-reading your young wizard series....It brought me a lot of happiness when I was a kid. Now I'm 25 and they're still just as nice. Happy upcoming birthday! I hope you have a really great time!
Bunratty Castle, set in the picturesque country side of County Clare, is one of Irelands most impressive complete, and functional castles. Normally the scene of relaxing walks though the medieval village, or raucous feasting in the castle hall, it will be invaded on the 28th and 29th of June 2008 by Viking hoardes!
Are these friendly Norsemen here to trade or Murderous Vikings bent on pillage and plunder? It is up to you to to rally your troops and defend your family!
With Viking traders, craftsmen and warriors, you can expect an excitement filled weekend as you walk through the Viking camp, smell the fires roasting meat, see the sparks flying as the Black smith forges iron into spear points, anxious in case of attack. . .
Will you be there when the shieldwalls meet, heroes clash and reputations are made?
