Jason, Kip and Jay have played together as Dianogah (pronounced Dye-ah-NO-gah) since January 1995. This is a very long time...and the band is fully aware of this.
Dianogah's core instrumentation is as a trio of two bass guitarists and one drummer. They have toured the US extensively, traveled throughout Europe and played in South America. In their twelve years as a band, Dianogah has toured with Man or Astro Man?, Blonde Redhead, Shellac, Silkworm, June of 44 and Don Caballero, and shared the stage with Sebadoh, Hum, The For Carnation, Ui, Rachels, Shipping News, Seam and Andrew Bird.
When not touring in their critically acclaimed van, Jason, Jay and Kip enjoy talking about the price of real estate. They also really enjoy sushi, Hot Dougs, books by Neal Stephenson or Haruki Murakami, clean socks, 'Krispy Kreme' donuts and the country of Italy. Sometimes, two or more members of the band accidentally wear the same t-shirt or the same type of shoes.
hi guys, we are BOHtrio, a post rock band from Verona, ITALY and we play with tho basses and drums as like as you. We saw you at INTERZONA and it was a fantastic concert you gave us lots of emotion. take a look at our space and if you want listen to our songs and write us. If you return to italy we would like to play with you. Kiss. P. BOHtrio
My latest track Discombobulations was inspired by you guys. It's probably not so obvious after the track took a life of it's own. But yeah, think of it as homage to you guys. Thank you for inspiring and existing, you rocks my world :)
Am still loving the new cd...other things of interest-love the Bird Machine, didn't know it was Jay. Also, my brother Steve designs books in Cincinnati. Finally, Haruki Murakami was teaching at Princeton, when we first moved down from NYC. Wrote The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle here...
