I know you dig Amy Winehouse and would love to see her on your trip to these shores... Well on our UKSOULJAM show on Sunday - who should jump onto the stage and perform with us for most of the show - non other than Mz AMY WINEHOUSE!!:D You would have loved it, it was the best performance she's done in a long time due to much publicised personal problems. & bless her - she's not out the woods yet. I feel what's needed is some geniune people around her. I had a good chat and a laugh with her - the talent is definately still there - I just want her to pull through. & all the ish was improvised. We did a version of Smokey's Cruisin (as made popular by D'Angelo) + some straight off improv scat singing and rapping. Luckily I caught some of it on film so will post you a link. Though sadly i couldnt film the parts where i was playing during but hopefully some of that will materialise also on youtube. It WAS indeed one of the craziest nights ever!! lolol & also listening in the house were the mighty 5 Blind Boys Of Alabama - a group who influenced just about every early Soul artist and were indeed recording and performing before the terms "rock n roll" and "soul" were coined. I had a chat with them too - what an honour!! - I have been listening to them for decades now - the founders of SOUL music on our humble UKSoulJam So who knows what madness will be waiting for you when you get to the UK. Hope all is good with you, just wanted to share that with you. keep the faitn, 1<3 Paul Groove Lineage
