Sounds Like

What others have said about ' Soul of the City/take my hand' the song with 2 names.....

The Waifs seduced Neil Diamond one night while listening to the Pogues and this is the song that their lovechild wrote - bgypsies from Sierraville, California on 12Feb2006

Reminicent of Tom Petty. The lyric's paint you a picture. You can almost see the dusty city and the room where they lay and hear the "city beat". The music is well played and just right for late night music fests. - FrgottenShadows from Hesperia, California on 28Feb2006

i liked the picture that you painted....wanted to walk in thr street below you....cool... - lyric01 from Auckland, New Zealand on 8Feb2006

What others have said about 'Confetti'.................

Good feel, somber mood, reminds me of Arlo Guthrie a bit. Thoughtful lyrics and the rhyming scheme was well done. - marsarizona from Oakland, California on 4Feb2006

Johnny Cash lives! - mdb172 from Chicago, Illinois on 4Feb200

guitar, candle, songwriter, great equation. love the mood and feel of the song, there's a sense of longing in the lyric that i cant put my finger on. over all it's a well done tune, very nice. - shawndutka from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada on 3Feb2006

This song is stained with Simon and Garfunkle's steady influence, bringing to mind visions of King Richard's Faire or perhaps an afternoon spent basking in a sun-drenched meadow pondering life's mysteries. The singer has an intriguing voice, and has deft finger picking skills. Nice work. - bigtrain from North Berwick, Maine on 1Feb2006

its peaceful and dark at the same time. its really has a nice ful to it. it something to you would here in the car in a rain strom. it works. - TheBonjoes from Bullshit, North Carolina on 31Jan2006

This is a very good folkrock ballad, very simple instrumentation and a nice barritone doing the singing. Keep up the good work. - JounceKuda from Leaksville, North Carolina on 30Jan2006

   About Dick Philpot

Dick was born somewhere between Lonnie Donegan and the Beach Boys. As a boy he played a red plastic guitar, subscribed to ‘Look in’ and whistled the tune to ‘Lost in space'. There was no cure!

Dick was a Semi Finalist in the UK Songwriter Contest 2008 & 7

Dick writes all his songs and plays all instruments (guitar, slide, harmonica, melodica, djembe, melodion, ting 'a' ling chiming things and anything that goes bong). Dick is very pleased that Justine Barker, of smiling knife, will sometimes sing with him, John Black from Thirty Leos play keys, and Jared Green of Mary J Burning bang the box.

Dick's album is one of the best home produced albums I have heard, and his songs really bring the local area to life.
You must buy one!

many of these Yews have split and expanded from ancient trees over 1000's of years... so although the may look to be 4-500 years old, the root socks may indeed be stoneage or older as glaciation did not reach as far as where many these trees grow...

Four days since my very lovely new girlfriend went away on hols without me :-) We've only being going out for a couple of months, and she'd already booked it before we met. Bloody cheek.

Next time I'm going with her!

All is well at Edwards' Towers. Can't make the gig I'm afraid so will send you my home address on email. Hope the gig goes well and your musical career is going from strength to strength, and let's book a date for a beer and catch up?

Hope all is well with the family.

See ya soon, Phil
