Bands i am/was in:Dickster,AMD,Science Dept,Jumanji,Green Nuns of the Revolution,Green Oms,Bumbling Loons,Seeka,Baramundi,Trickster,Infernal Machine,Hierophant,Slinky Nuns,Slinky Wizard (early on!),Hex,Tufaan,Manic,Juice,Groovesniffas,What Next! and as myself Dick Trevor.....a bit schizo really! So here's a few bits of my work available on Beatport....;)
Influences
I'm influenced by everything I hear,i love all kinds of music but i guess the biggies over the years were Blondie,The Police,Gary Numan,Led Zeppelin,Pink Floyd,David Bowie,Jimi Hendrix,AC/DC,Queen,The Cult,The Sisters of Mercy,Ozric Tentacles,Sev Burden (DJ),Eat Static,Hallucinogen,Doof,Man With No Name,The Doors,The Orb,Salmonella Dub and maybe about a zillion others!
Dick started making music while at college doing sound engineering in '93. He and Matt Coldrick teamed up and had a go at making a trance track.TIP Records loved it and put it out. From then on they became the Green Nuns of the Revolution. They made tracks for most of the english trance labels around then (Dragonfly,TIP,Flying Rhino,Phantasm) and on various compilations, releasing only one album,"Rock Bitch Mafia" on Flying Rhino.
After a couple of years making music together they teamed up with keyboard player Neil Cowley (The Neil Cowley Trio,Fragile State) who was then playing with the Brand New Heavies and he started to put more funk into the music. They did many gigs around the world using live guitars and keyboards and sometimes an extra percussionist, going for the rock n roll performance. They even did a video for MTV (it was a while ago....!!) which you can find below. The nuns went their separate ways in 98 and Dick started to produce music with many different artists and people.
Within the Flying Rhino stable he and James Monro formed the Bumbling Loons releasing a few singles and tracks on the label. They also did a couple of remixes for ManMadeMan and Sonkite. They recently started writing music together again, under their own names, releasing "Washout" on Iboga and "The Big Squeeze" on Flow Records. The duo get together annualy or when they can as they live opposite ends of the globe now! Dick also teamed up with George Barker (Slinky Wizard) to form Slinky Nuns & Seeka as well as Barramundi with Ronnie Biggs(Slinky).
On Twisted Records Dick did collaborations with Simon Posford as Infernal Machine and Tristan as Trickster.Tristan and Dick have been writing some new tunes recently and are working together quite regularly so there will be more coming soon from the duo.He also did a Western Rebel Alliance remix with Jules Evans (producer/fisherman) for the Shpongle Remix album of the track "Crystal Skulls".And he put two tracks together for each Backroom Beats album under the name "Hierophant" with Ed Bigland.
On Phantasm there were collaborations with Chris Boing as the Bisto Boys and John Ford as Mindfield/Bisto Boys and then more recently with John's son Junya (Eskimo) as Jumanji (who incidentally inspired me a lot!).
Dick also teamed up with Jon Om who used to run Aquatec Records and formed Green Oms,they released an album entitled "Coming Through In Waves" ..onfly Records in 2002 and did a couple of cheeky bootlegs as GrooveSniffas. One of the highlights for the Oms was playing at the first Universo Paralello in Alto Paraiso where Jon met his future wife!
Dick also joined forces with Jules Hamer from Aphid Moon and came up with AMD which has had releases on Alchemy and Nano records. The debut album "Bigfish" was released on Nano in Feb 07 so check it out if you haven't heard it!
Away from the trance scene Dick teamed up with Danny Howells and started Science Dept having successful releases on John Digweeds label Bedrock (with Repercussion,Persuasion) and then on Renaissance Records (Breathe) which got into the UK top 60.They also released Kinkyfunk on Deep Dish's label Yoshitoshi in the US which was a big hit on the progressive scene. Then after that they followed it up with Dusk til Dawn which was a big hit in Ibiza in 2004 and even made it into the UK top 40 on C2 records. The duo have also done a fair amount of remixes including BT,Coco & Stonebridge,David Morales,Destiny's Child and even a "Kinkyfunk"remix for Madonna of "Get Together".
They have also remixed Marco Bailey's "Smoothdrive" and did a Roachford remix (check out Danny's myspace page to hear the music that they collaborate on).Dick also got together with native Australian DJ Andy Morris (one half of Narcotic Thrust and runs Oatmeal Records in Notting Hill) and finished their first track under the name Phat Static. The pair have also done a remix for Offir Nassim's "That's the way I like it" on Star69 Records from the US.They also relesaed the single "Just Believe" on Friends Of The Family Records under their own names along with the vocals of the incredibly talented Sandy Mill from New Zealand. Dick and Sandy have made a few songs over the years which have never seen the light of day (sorry Sandy!) but which have been made for the love of it whilst having a real laugh!(But i hope they will soon!)Check out "Hold On" in the player above!
Back on the trance scene Dick has released tracks on his own as Dickster on Twisted, Phantasm and TIP and has also got together with Anna Hefetz ,a dj / producer from Israel (who also happened to inspire me incredibly)- their first release was a remix of Mumbo Jumbo on Transient Records. Dick and Anna (Annarchy) have had releases together on Nano Records,Liquid & Solid Records and also another project of theirs is with George Barker (Flying Rhino,Slinky Wizard) which is more progressive trance, with their first release Eargate on Iboga Records' Hibernation compilation.Dick,Anna and George should be writing some more music together soon! For Dick there have also been other collaborations with Cosmosis, Pogo (Wingmakers) and Lucas (TIP),Zen Mechanics and DJ Hopi.
In between producing music Dick has been dj-ing constantly, playing at parties, clubs and festivals all around the globe since 98 but his main love is actually writing the music and there is plenty more where that came from!

Constructed as a twisting, bounding, spiraling adventure through the minds of these two talented producers, ‘Branes’ consistantly grows in attitude and involvement: years of dancefloor adventures are clearly etched into the basslines and leads that emanate from each and every track, including the epic Weird, Sick & Twisted remix that has already been tearing up dancefloors across the world! Cutting-edge production and depth of emotion makes this debut offering from M-Theory destined to redefine your world!
the awainted release from one of the most popular tracks on soundcloud in the past few months2 slices of the underground here from Diogo Ribeiro and they both have us dancing around our desks! We have opted to highlight 'Bruise' and it really does roll along like a dream with swung percussion, a funky groove and all crafted with great production - A really solid release here!
While nowadays it often seems like all the Psy Trance labels either reduce the speed of their releases and turn to more and more body-orientated club sounds or crank up the tempo of their music to rather hectic levels, Solar Tech Records delivers an excellent selection of tunes that keeps the golden mean: With tracks between 142 and 145 BPM the music is powerful, driving and very psychedelic on the one hand but also progressive in the original meaning of the word and does not get stressful or kitschy at any point. For this second compilation label owner DJ Natron extended his network of promising producers from South Africa, Switzerland, UK, Germany and South America and again presents some sparking pearls for original Psychedelic lovers.
Hey!
