DIDDLEY is a five member band with ties to Dayton, Ohio. The original band members are Jeff Powell and Kim Jones who began performing together in 1999 as an acoustic duo with Jeff on guitar and vocal harmonies that propelled them upwards and onwards. Jeff and Kim appeared at several local establishments in northern Dayton, Ohio getting their start at Bunker's in Vandalia and Jackass Flats in Dayton, Ohio. Jeff released his first CD in January of 2000 entitled "I Want You To Know" recorded locally in Dayton, Ohio and mastered by Gary King at Refraze in Kettering, Ohio.
Jeff and Kim's professional sound was characterized by sweet harmony vocal performances. Later they had a trio arrangement with Joe Leon on guitar and vocals, but the full band that tours today wasn't formed until they were joined by Mitch Powers on bass guitar and vocals and Jimi Sengl on drums. The band has taken new directions, Dan Smith joined the band as drummer in late 2005 and was a part of Diddley family until August of 2008. In September of 2008 Jorge Nunez joined Diddley as its drummer. Ever evolving in the pursuit of MUSIC FROM SOUL TO SOUL, changes continued in 2009 when Mark Sowers joined the band as lead guitar and vocalist, and in 2010 when Jesse Ratcliff joined the band on bass.
In October of 2007, Diddley's cd entitled "I Had a Good Time Last Night" was released. It was recorded and mastered by Gary King at Refraze in Kettering, Ohio. The original songs were written by Kim Jones, Jeff Powell, Joe Leon and Kelly McMillen.
We are writing new songs, some were recorded live at McGuffy's in 2009 and we are anxious to get back into the studio soon to begin recording DIDDLEY's sophomore CD. Thanks to all of the Diddley faithful for so many years of support, love and MUSIC FROM SOUL TO SOUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey friend! First off, we're so thankful that you're our friend! It really does mean a lot to us. There are a ton of bands on here trying to do the same thing that we are, so we appreciate it when you give us a chance! Second, we just wanted to update you on a few things!
