That’s right, Birmingham’s very first Middle Eastern hand-percussion ensemble and self-professed "accursed mountebanks" have returned to life. Like scenes from a George Romero movie, Karachi Rocket once again meanders slothfully into the spotlight with the coming MUSE of FIRE Shakespeare at Sloss production of Macbeth on May 3rd and 4th. Reanimated back into existence, like in that one scene in that movie with all the zombies in it ... you know, the one that Linnea Quigley’s naked in? ... Ryan Morrison, Ryan Carlson, Robert Stewart, Brian Bowman, and backing vocalist Ronnie James Dio return to the stage, single-handedly refilling the vacuum that is the Steel City’s Middle Eastern hand-percussion scene.
Though we have been unable to contact Ronnie James Dio for comment, we have managed to speak briefly with Ryan Morrison, the group’s primary spokesman:
"Well, we’re back for another go."
There you have it then! They are back! Though met so far with scant rejoicing, they are expected to put on quite a show accompanying the ULTRA HiP REVUE for the Macbeth performance. I am sure that I speak for all of the Magic City in saying that we all await this grand reunion with pregnant anticipation!
See? Told you.
