Oh wow, I didn't even think about it till you mentioned it but Matthew and his friends do look alike! HA! Also, I so did not decorate that cake. I wish I was that good! That was a cake that the commissary here on base did. It turned out nice and tasted good too. I can make a cake that tastes really good but I couldn't decorate it. The most decorating mine would have would be sprinkles on top!
It is starting to. The roads and parking lots are clear of snow and there are some places where you can see grass! They are predicting a warmer then usual summer this year.
Well that is a bummer for him. How disappointing. I know Joan was looking forward to seeing him again. The kids would have liked to have seen their uncle also. Hopefully they will get a chance to see him before we leave for Alaska. You guys will have to come and visit when we get up there and settled.
Oh... I see. Was he upset that it got canceled? At least now you guys can hang out together for Christmas. Your at least going to fix a turkey right???
Oh, well, they probably do. I don't think I've been to a base that they don't do that. Of course I haven't been to every base so I couldn't tell you but I think most of them do. I don't know what the purpose is of it but I don't argue. I think it is kind of cool and if you are trying to find someone on base you know you have the right house! HA!
It was a good idea to black it out though. I don't want some people knowing my last name. Not unless I really know them and trust them. That name on the door thing, they have done that at pretty much all bases I have ever been to. Do they not do that there in Charleston?
I edited that picture you left a comment on. You can no longer see Matt's name. You can recomment if you like. Thanks for pointing that out. I didn't notice and neither did Matt when he e-mailed me and told me he liked the picture.
When we lived in New Jersey that seemed to be the case also. Everyone left for the holiday. I don't know how they could afford it though. It gets expensive trying to travel to far to go home for the holidays. I'm guessing a lot of them lived close or something.
I'm not sure. A lot depends on if Matt gets home in time for Thanksgiving. He is TDY again. If he is home in time I was thinking on doing something here and inviting lots of people since this will probably be our last Thanksgiving in OK for a while. Matt is supposed to be home on Tuesday but the last TDY he went on that was supposed to run 5 days ran 2 1/2 weeks. If that happens I'm not sure what we are going to do. What are you and James going to be doing?
Outprocessing = paperwork to leave Tinker and move to Alaska. Anyways, if I do go to Peru, I'd definitely try to get to Machu Picchu. I've always wanted to go there. It looks incredible in the photos.
Yes, all work related. As much as I'd like to go to Peru, I had to ask today if they could find somebody else to go. I have GOT to get some of my outprocessing stuff done. But if they can't find another engineer, I'll go. I'd rather go to Peru than Vegas, but I can't get out of Vegas! The AWACS goes out there all the time.
Matthew was a doctor and Erica was Sleeping Beauty. I'll have to get some pictures on here. I just haven't had the time between the kids being sick the first of the week, my working, then me getting sick. It has been a crazy week! I'll probably get some on here by next weekend. Be watching for them!!!
I'll check out the facebook thing. Maybe. Anyways, I've been back for a week or so. Thanks for the video games! I'm going to Vegas for a week on Monday. I'll be back for one day and then I'm going to Peru for another week.
What's so great about face book? I don't even really like MySpace. I've thought about deleting my account at times, but it's easy to keep in touch with people. When I was in Crete, it was the only way I could communicate with people back home. HA!
Hey, has Joan made it there? Hope you guys are having a good time. When we lived in New Jersey I always enjoyed it when Joan came up. She made sure we saw all the sights and had a good time. I just love having company over and we always had a really good time.
I guess you have to be smarter then the dog! LOL! I just keep the bathroom door closed but Matt and Matthew aren't so good about closing it behind them. Of course they aren't the one picking up the icky trash that she drags out.
Joan has been talking about that. She is leaving tomorrow so she should be there soon. She isn't a picky eater at all. I've never seen her turn down anything. I do know that she likes her coffee in the morning but since we aren't coffee drinkers I have never paid attention to what she puts in it. I know she has some creamer in her fridge but not sure if that is hers or Bens. I can't remember the name of the creamer but you see it on commercials all the time here. It is in a blue package. If I heard the name I would recognize it. Oh, if she drinks tea she likes to use the blue artificial sweetners. If I think of anything else I'll let you know but like I said, she isn't to picky.
I wonder too how I ended up being a doggy mommy. Trust me, since I'm raising both, kids are a whole lot easier then dogs. At least, once they start talking, you can communicate with your kids and teach them right from wrong that way. With dogs you just have to keep on getting after them and don't know if you are getting through or not. I love animals, in case you couldn't tell, but after my dogs go I'm not getting anymore for a very long time. =) I'm going to just focus on the kids for a while. I couldn't leave our dogs behind though. Skip has been such a good dog, listens, does his business outside, has been really good. If I didn't bring Samantha and just gave her away to someone I would feel as if I had betrayed my mom and let her down. I know that doesn't make any sense but that's just it. Even though I'm ready to get rid of her, she poos and pees on the floor and gets into my bathroom trash and chews on things that are just gross and I don't want to be picking up again! Gotta love her though.
There is a daycare on base but I don't want to sign her up unless I have a job or am going to school and there is long waiting list. It'll be a wait and see type thing till we get there.
My dogs are already indoor dogs. They go outside to do their business but they are indoor dogs. You can't have outdoor dogs in Alaska though unless they are those Alaskan dogs. My dogs would freeze to death out there.
Yeah, it had been a while since I had been skating when I finally took Matthew but it is like riding a bike. Once you learn how you never forget.
I haven't started looking for a job yet. I'm going to get used to the area and people and get to know everything. Erica will need daycare and I want to make sure I'm sending her with the right person. After the nightmare my neighbor has been so far. Long story.... Matthew is excited about the move. He hasn't really said if he is nervous or anything. He seems like he is ready to go. We will probably be taking just about everything. With the exception of a few animals. I know we are taking the dogs for sure but the cats we still haven't decided on. The birds we are going to find a home for here and the turtle we are going to set free. Matt is also going to sell his truck, motorcycle, and bus since he won't be able to play with any of those up there. That's all the plans we have made for now. The rest are going to be made closer to time to leave. I've never done this big of a move before so it'll be an experience.
Are you kidding me. I used to go roller skating all the time. Back in the day, when I was around 13, that was the place to pick someone up. LOL! I ran into Matt there all the time. We were just friends then. I take Matthew skating every now and then. The rink by us has a bunch of trouble makers though. The next closest one is in Choctaw which is about 15 minutes from here. We go out there every once in a while. Anytime I can find a sitter anyways. Erica is young and doesn't like it at all, I've already tried and will wait awhile before I try again! =)
