.. Daniel James . . .My influences vary, depending on what mood I'm in and/or what's been happening around me. Music I listen to ranges from acoustics to metal, classical to Rock and everything else in between. Ok, I'm not going to write down a list of bands to bore you to death with, just going to say my main influence in writing is LIFE!
..Muffy . . .David Gilmore, Slash, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Marty Friedman, Jason Becker, Zakk Wylde, Jeff Buckley, Richie Sambora & John Williams - I get alot of influences, thoughts and ideas from musicians that I know, whom I think have more of an effect on your life and the way you perceive everything around you than people realise...In a nutshell, I want to be able to play everything from Metal, Rock, Flamenco and Jazz right through to Latin, fusion, traditional Japanese, Chinese and Bulgarian folk.
Hello and Thank you for dropping by and checking us out. We hope you enjoy the music and we look forward to seeing you at one of our next gigs! Please keep coming back for updates and new releases, Diem.

Diem
Robust, foot-on-the-monitor rock closes proceedings from Diem. Wilfully unfashionable, and adding an acoustic guitar to the tried and tested rock template, Diem are an anomaly tonight. Doling out three six minute opuses takes guts and bravado, and, after an impromptu encore which sees the largest cheers of the night, the band bow together. In their case, a little bit of guts may go a long, long way.

Diem are heroes tonight. Not just because of their sheer selflessness – drummer James seems to spend more time helping other bands out tonight at the front-of-house desk than he does preparing for his own band's show, but as the only true exponents of old school rock left in Surface Unsigned in Wales. Caring not for gimmicks, stage bravado or passing fads that have reared their heads in the last two decades, the Cardiff four-piece instead ply the kind of gutsy rock you'd find nestled at the back of a Hell's Angels jukebox, and are all the more better for it.

Diem
Something altogether more reserved next, Diem proffering earnest songwriting with moments of flash rock panache. Thankfully the right side of saccharine, The Cardiff four piece are unafraid of stripping back to just an acoustic and plaintive vocal, before crashing into lighters-aloft choruses. Simple it may be, but the best things often are...
About 'Who Knows?...
'Who knows?' is a 5 Track E.P. written and recorded in the lovely spare room of a house that James' and Muffy reside in. Yes, fully functional home made recordings! Also, embedded into the CD will be the video for 'Drain Me'!

You may like to check out my recently released book - 100 Great Albums. It's a 220 page review of the best music recorded during the period 1965-08 featuring the Beatles,Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, Sex Pistols, Joy Division, U2, Nirvana, Radiohead, the Strokes and many more!
My aim is to prolong the existence of something close to my heart, something currently under severe threat from the download generation - The Album! With the modern world increasingly more interested in cherry-picking individual tracks, it seems to me a great shame that the sacred long-player is losing its importance. I'm on a mission to save the album before it's too late. ether new or old to the scene, can appreciate the importance of that.
If you click on the button below you can access further details about the book (including an option to preview some of the content) before deciding whether you want to buy. All the best Andy.
