Just found some old demos from my "one-take" bedroom studio on Elizabeth St. back around 2000. The rule was only "one-take" allowed: play a drum track, add the guitar and vocal, throw on some bass, and then whatever else. I was always too lazy to fix any mistakes and bad vocals, so here they are warts and all! A peak into an old sketchbook. Not very representative of the current Chris, but interesting,...

Chris "Guitar Bomb" Diener’s new all purpose music page! As a professional musician/vocalist for 15+ years Chris has been entertaining and impressing folks in the studio, on stage, and at home (the family is always the toughest critic!) Current projects include Global Village(corporate horn band), The Vegas Flu(funky blues rock), O.P.M.(college/classic rock), various acoustic duos, and The Chris Diener solo show!! A working musician, Chris has a vast knowledge of popular music, and can play and sing most any song requested. As a student and educator of guitar, Chris has mastered multiple styles, specializing in funk, country, blues rock, and all things acoustic. A love of all music allows Chris to convincingly and seamlessly navigate a songlist that travels through jazz standards, 50’s classic country, 60’s Soul, 70’s classic rock, 80’s Cheez, 90’s Alternative Rock, and Contemporary top 40!

Also featured on this page will be Chris and Tara’s hibernating duo "The Failers" (or "Clementine" or "Red Maple Ramblers", whatever we are calling our selves this week.) Tara writes the lyrical gut-wrenching songs I wish I could! Just call me hot sauce on her meat and potatoes, or sprinkles on her cookies,...well none of that sounds quite right and slightly wrong, so let’s just say I supplement her honest innate talent with a little skillful ear candy! More to come,...
Saturday June 20th at The Outer Limits we are playing one night only and will be shooting 3 camera angles for our upcoming video for "Whole Lotta Waitress".
Not only do we need to make sure this bar is wall to wall packed for the good of the video, but also to show the owners that we can pack their club.
Click the link above for directions to the bar via google maps. The Outer Limits is located at:
I dont know how you can get better but maybe I will test your theory! Even though the vox isnt right it is still somewhat interesting if I remember correctly.
This needs to be made public, Chris Diener needs to start playing with GGY after the kick ass tracks he layed down last night! I still think we should have taken the vocals out and just had you solo over the entire song.
Ken said to tell you I was up doing crack. So not true.
We went to bed at 11:45 and almost immediately, a car alarm started going off in our neighborhood. It would go for about 15 minutes, stop for a minute then start again. After an hour of this madness, I finally called MHPD and they said they had already responded to several complaints in our neighborhood and there was nothing they could do. It was a car left in the Tuffy parking lot at the end of our street. The alarm continued to go off until sometime close to 4am. At that point, I had just given up on sleep. I've been up for about 42 hours now.
I'm glad you stopped instead of pushing on...must have been at the rest stop near Grand Ledge? I think I've told you before, but you can call if it helps you stay awake. I really don't care.
I hope the girls are feeling better as well as Daddy.
I have news. My sister in law is joining the military. She is single and has a one year old daughter. While she is gone for basic (looking like April), Ken and I are going to take care of her. Kiana is three months younger than Ava...future play date? Zoo trip maybe? I've never gotten to do the full time Mommy thing for that little of one. Damon was five when Ken and I moved in together. I have a million nieces and nephews but have never had them for longer than a weekend. This will be a good test for me!
Talk to Chris J. I'm sure he has tons of connections out here. I'm thinking of doing the same for some friends out in LA. I'm so out of the loop that I don't know of any venues other than The Magic Bag and The Machine Shop. I suck.
Why are you not playing the HSM gigs? Are they just not playing or you're just not playing?
I wish I was closer because I wouldn't mind catching some of those downtown Pub shows you've been playing or hitting the Green Door for ladies night!!! Haha! Ahhh...the memories come flooding in. Aren't you glad I've calmed down since then? Does that crazy dancing guy still come out with the biker gloves?
He says he is doing it. Its been hard getting him to respond to much of anything. I feel like I am bothering him in some ways. Anyway, hope you can make it out to that show if it really happens.
