Die Smylin played the Rockhouse Bar & Grill in Butler over the weekend. Rick Moses from Plastered in Paris , Jeff Sleigher from Native Import , and Brad from the DeLaney's were kind enough to join us on stage for some some entertaining holiday jamz! Chris and Kim from The Intent were also in the house. Congratulations on their engagement. These are some of the best musicians in Butler, make sure you check them out at the Rockhouse and other venues in the area! Our next show will be at the Looney Toones January 30th. until then we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Bio
Die Smylin is a “Hard Rockin’ Rock –N- Roll” band based out of Butler, PA that formed in late 2006. From Metallica to Finger Eleven, Twisted Sister to Slipknot, our material covers a variety of hard hitters from the past and present. In October of 2008 the lineup was solidifed with the addition of our new guitar player Ted "The Shred" Kiefer. 2009 has been a ground breaking year for us. We've taken our music from the occasional show here and there to performing on the stage of a favorite watering hole near you on a monthly basis. We believe in providing our audience with a fist pumpin’, headbangin’, ass shakin’ good time and with the best friends and fans anyone could ask for behind us we say, "Thank You"! If you want the most bang for your buck, check us out!
Our name, well it's nothing morbid by any means! We were all asked to bring in ideas for a name for the band and after going through a stack of possibilities it was down to a handful. Dan came forward with "Die Smiling" and said, "I want to have fun playing music and in everything else I do in my life. I want to die smiling!" Isn't that the truth? A change of the letters in the word smiling and the name of the band and its' philosophy were born.
And that's our story...so far! Stay tuned! (Updated 8-12-09)

Not really Brother! Havent looked real hard...most bands are finishing up their engagements for the year! Hey I will try to make it up to see you guys at the ROCKHOUSE Sat the 12th! "all the best my brother!!!" Donny
JB, "WDVE" and the "X" both have home grown segments on Sunday evening's (or at least they used to). So if you call the stations, they can probably give you more insight. Also "WYEP" supports the local music sceen, when I was in the "Rude Mood" band, we sent a CD to WYEP, and we used to get some air time with them, give it a shot. Take care and happy holidays, Dan P.S. you can check out the Rude mood link on my friends list, and we have the originals we wrote on there
JB, new song sounds pretty good, where did you record at? bass lines sound good, 5 string bass or drop "D" tuning? try and submit it to the local home grown radio segments, etc. Later bro Dan
With the lower tuning you are playing the song with. I would suggest singing an octave lower or deeper. The lyrics and sound sound pretty sweet but the voice needs to match the music some. In the older songs like Sex Type Thing (STP Cover) That goes fine because most of the late 80s Early 90s music was very much trebble based.
It is just a suggestion from one musician to a set of musicians. Try, keep it, not use it. Don't matter it is your band.
hey guys this friday night once again at rockanns nov 27th 930-130 hope some of you can make it out! happy turkey day to all the die smylin family! greg l.s.b.
