A New York musician known as Shyndigg formed a band called Digg Deep. He married the styles of Hip-Hop, with the style of the great Burt Bacharach and called the result, Musique Noire.
While Digg Deep was playing live at one of New Yorks popular clubs, they were witnessed by Scott Hockens & Victor Guzman who immediately helped finance their debut album. The completed album is entitled "InDiggNation" and is dubbed "The Soundtrack Of Your Life." It contains twenty tracks, all worth listening to. Among these unique original compositions are two re-arrangements of well known songs. One being Billy Joel’s Still Rock and Roll to me, sung Still Funk & Soul II me, and the other being Sly & the Family Stones, I Want To Take You Higher. Once you've heard Shyndiggs versions of these two songs, you'll realize that life was not meant to be shallow. Now they are getting ready to release their second album “RiDIGGulus,” in July. The single from that album “We know we flow” can be downloaded for free from this page.
The players in this band are themselves some of the most outstanding and unique musicians on the New York music scene. Sean Dixon on drums is steady and dynamic; Kat Fong on violins & vocals is symphonic and soulful; Michael “D’ Mac” Barnes on lead guitars rocks out thunderously; Jerome Jordan on rhythm guitars and lead vocals is funky and frenetic; Glenn Mauser on saxophones and keyboards is raging and powerful; and Alkebulan on lead vocals is stellar, unstoppable, and a voice to be reckoned with. Shyndigg is the producer, composer, arranger, bassist, and vocalist of both the albums and the band. Digg Deep perform's with passion, and is the newest and most unique sound to arrive in a long time.
