Sounds Like
Nothing and Everything. Quirky Progressive Funk/Rock with a bit of Blues and Jazz
The Diggity is a 5, and sometimes 6 or 7 piece Progressive Funk/Rock Jam Band, carrying a sound like no one else on earth. The Diggity will captivate your mind with their creative song writing, unique instrumentals, and their mind altering twisted creation of funk, born in late 2001, The Diggity started out as an alternative rock band. A year later they made the transition to jam friendly music pulling influences from bands such as (but not limited to) Widespread Panic, Umphreys McGee, Phish, Grateful Dead, the Allman Brothers Band, LLAMA, and The New Mastersounds. In 2006, the band decided to light it up, and move from just playing local coffee shops, to playing all over Indiana, and in late 2006 the band took on the challenge of recording an album, which was released in April 2007, "Out of The Woodwork"
In May of 2008, The Diggity will begin it's first hiatus in the 7 year run of growing and becoming what The Diggity is today. With The Diggity finally finding their groove, and having a really good idea of where the music will go, it has been decided that this is the best time to take a short brake. Giving each member an oppertunity to tie up loose ends, and do things that they could normally not do being dedicated to the band. Our two guitarists have choosen to do conservation work on opposite ends of the country. California has consumed Alex, and Maine has devowered Jake. In mid-August, Jake will return, and the 4 piece Diggity will begin working hard on getting back into the groove of things, with shows scheduled already and a few dates still open for booking the band. Alex will be returning in either late September or early October, and will quickly be jumping back on board and put together our first full Diggity show on Halloween. Although, not traveling near or far, our other members will surely be keeping busy. On top of the many other life paths that will be taken with the remaining members, Marko, Vaso, and Eric will be joining our good friend and fellow musician, DJ QuikMix, with a side project called "Mic Lov and The Dizz" which has one show already booked for Saturday, July 12 @ Duffy's Place in Valparaiso, IN at 10pm. Liable of being a FUNKY GOOD TIME!!! Expect to also see DJ QuikMix join The Diggity, in full at the 2008 Halloween Bash @ St. Elijah Hall in Merrillville, IN
Apon full return of the band, we will be running at full force, playing shows every weekend in Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Week day shows cannot be played due to school schedules of the band mambers. Some Thursday nights can be made available, but most shows will be on Friday and Saturdays.
