jonnie austen designer resume'

Throughout his professional career jonnie austen has been involved in virtually every facet of the visual and digital design industry. Born and raised in Honolulu to an Hawaiian ohana of Ali'i heritage and a proud alumnus of the Kamehameha Schools, he began his extensive professional career while he was still studying fine arts at the University of Hawaii. jonnie soon became fascinated with photography and ultimately chose it as the ideal medium for his creative expression.

His passion for photography led jonnie to start his first professional venture, a freelance photography studio in Honolulu. He specialized in advertising and fashion photography and soon his natural artistic talent and creativity came to the attention of some top advertising art directors who recommended that jonnie study photography and graphic design at the Art Center College of Design - considered by most advertising and design professionals to be the world's premier advertising design school.

While attending Art Center jonnie also accepted freelance photography assignments from major Hollywood record labels. After a couple of years of freelance work around Hollywood he returned to Hawaii and opened his own creative design studio where he continued to develop his talents and hone his skills in virtually every aspect of advertising, graphic design and visual media.

jonnie earned an associate degree in computer graphics with high honors and has also taught computer graphics and website design college courses.

jonnie's design studio, Digible Dreams, produced the advertising and graphic design that make up the impressive creative work that can be found in his design portfolio.

jonnie has also been the art director and lead graphic designer at Austen Design, Chameleon Productions, Reality Entertainment and HonStudios. jonnie was responsible for all creative design, promotions, marketing and publicity for these firms.

More recently jonnie has designed entire apparel collections for Phelony Clothing and Dopamine Clothing. Within the past year jonnie has founded his own three apparel brands; urbStyle streetWear, 808 Reprazent and sk808. jonnie's current plans are to launch the 808 Reprazent brand by the end of 2008 and to launch the urbStyle and sk808 brands in the Spring of 2009.

this is the myspace profile for digible dreams, my graphic design studio. the portfolio pieces shown here are just a small sampling of some of the graphic design work that i've done recently. although my primary focus right now is on launching my three streetwear brands, pono streetwear, urbStyle and my skate brand, sk808, i still do special graphic design projects on a limited basis. so, if you've got a fun and interesting design project in mind, please feel free to message or comment me.

i'm getting ready to produce my sample line for pono streetwear so that i can schedule the brand's launch for the beginning of 2010. you can see some of the collection's initial design concepts right now on my pono streetwear myspace profile.

the projected launch for my urbStyle brand is in the Summer of 2010. you can see some of the designs for urbStyle on my urbStyle myspace profile.

i'm excited about my new skatewear brand, sk808. look for it to launch along with urbStyle in the Summer of 2010.

i'll be sending out updates and bulletins detailing information on the brand launch events for all of my brands to all of my myspace friends.
