A BAND that promises to play the blues the way they should be will be coming to Cox’s Yard in November.
Local act Dig the Pig, a group of seasoned musicians brought together by a love of the blues, will take to the stage at the Bridgefoot venue on November 2.
They combine vocals, drums, guitars, keyboards, saxophones, trombones and harmonicas and are billed as one most versatile blues bands in the area
covering a range of classics, from a version of Peter Green’s Need Your Love So Bad, to Portishead’s Glory Box.
Band members have played at the likes of Ronnie Scott’s and Glastonbury and as a band for the last two years, Dig the Pig have organised charity gigs in aid of Myton Hospice banking some £8,000.
They will be supported at Cox’s Yard by Kel Elliott, a singer/songwriter and double bassist, and Spitfire 5, a band playing Weller and Jam classics.
Tickets cost £4 in advance from the venue or online at www.coxsyard.co.uk. The gig starts at 8.30pm. For more details visit www.digthepig.co.uk
