Dik Guru writes and performs comedy folk songs based on true stories and real situations, often involving onanism. With a hint of social comment, plenty of swearing and piss taking he's a liability at any church fete or garden party. The instrumentation is basic:2chord guitar and a squirrel scampering over some biscuit tins. The tunes are all nicked from dead people who can't complain. The words are all rude, and offensive to people of several nationalities. Dik has been banned from venues in and around Birmingham and the Black Country on the pub music scene and as well as charity events, local festivals and comedy nights. His most noteable gig so far was a warm up slot for Jerry Sadowitz one night in Digbeth, leading to the immediate closure of the pub on the grounds of taste and decency. Dik has recorded a cd of some of his songs entitled 'Urban Folk' and is writing some more songs on the back of an envelope to be recorded some time when we can borrow his mate's Binatone 'Record yourself for fun and amusement' portable studio.****DIK'S ALBUM 'URBAN FOLK' WHICH WAS SELF RELEASED IN 2004, HAS BEEN RE-PRESSED BY BIRMINGHAM PUNK LABEL'S (PUNK SHIT RECORDS AND ANGRY SCENES RECORDS) IT HAS A NEW PACKAGE LAYOUT AND IS AVALIBLE TO ORDER.PLEASE SEND A MESSAGE IF YOU WISH TO ORDER IT.**The album is also availible on Interpunk www.interpunk.com
