diM. was formed in February of 2006. The first few sessions prooved to be a huge surprise, as at first no one knew what to expect. This was partially due to the fact that each member had come from different, yet similiar musical backgrounds. One thing was for certain though, and that was their common interest and love for heavy music.
The voice behind the music as brought by (BeAsT), ranges from soft melodic singing to harsh in your face screaming. Wes’ vocals have been compared to bands such as: Deftones, Killswitch Engage, Sevendust and In Flames. (D4rkSt4r) brings an element to the music with distorted keyboard and samples that sound like recordings from a torture chamber, it’s easy to hear how he is influenced by Metal bands such as: Chimaira, Deftones and Mushroomhead. (TwiTcH) delivers the very embodiment of heavy metal drumming. Everything from pedal work that puts a track stars feet to shame, and unique patterns and fills that roll like an avalanche. However, it is (Knuckillz) and (Bones) grinding-Slipknot-Slayer-styled guitar work that seves as a one-two power punch of the bands audio assault
By keeping an open door policy for those interested, and by word of mouth, diM. made a following for themselves simply by turning each practice into a show. In August of 2006, the band put on a full scale underground show as a celebration of how far they’ve come before being evicted out of their practice space. This particular show brought over 200 people and attracted the attention of a local television station. Since then, the members of diM. have been performing at local venues every weekend. Because their style of heavy metal is so unique, they’ve continued to create and maintain a strong fanbase as well as play key venues inluding jillians, the rox and soon gameworks.
